I'm a poster on TheBump, but just found out my friend is going to get engaged over the holidays.
I'm planning to host an engagement party for the couple. Can anyone recommend some good websites for engagement party themes and ideas?

Our engagement party was a cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres and we loved it! As pp mentioned above, a theme is not necessarily needed, and what guests remember most is celebrating the couple and the drinks and the food. If you do decide to go with a theme, keep it light and don't over due it or it'll feel more like a kid's birthday party. If you want to go with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, I've listed the menu from ours below as a reference. HTH!

The menu was:

~Baked brie with cinnamon apples
~Pepperoni bread
~Beef Wellington
~Shrimp cocktail
~Tomatoes and mozzerella with balsamic vinegar
~Prosciutto wrapped melon

Drink List:

~Champagne Punch
~Non-alcoholic punch
~Bottled beer
~Champagne toast
~Red and white wine
~Signature cocktail which was a pink lemonade martini
~Bottled water
~Soda

Dessert:

~White chocolate chip cake
~Chocolate covered strawberries
~Coffee

Thanks! DH and I worked on it with our moms. The sad thing is we were so busy we barely got to enjoy any of it, but all the guests sure enjoyed it! :0)
