I need help...(WR)

I've done most of our planning without asking for input from you guys, but we're down to the wire, and my day-of coordinator is out flea marketing instead of responding to my pop-chat on Facebook...

ANYWAY, I was planning on making a ton of fabric bunting for our tent decor, since it was featured in our invitations, but after realizing how ridiculously time consuming it was going to be to make enough flags to reach across a 30X30 tent, I decided to go with the tried and true paper lanterns. Now..what color should I order? Our colors are yellow and gray, but we're already using yellow gingham linens. Could I get away with using the colors that were on our invites? Like this:

I just don't want it to get to "little girl birthday party"..

Re: I need help...(WR)

  • honestly, you can shaped your wedding decor however you want.

i guarantee you, no one is going to walk into your reception and go "WHERETF ARE THE FRICKIN BUNTINGS???"

lol, but seriously, go with what you're comfortable with, and don't stress yourself out with a time consuming project.

you could always add in the bunting motif in other ways, like a cake topper, menu cards, etc.

  • Meg, did you read Jill's question? She's not asking about whether or not to include bunting, she's asking about the colors.

Jill, I think that's fine. I can see how those colors could also be used for a birthday party, but I don't think they're exclusively made for 5 year olds at all - it'll look great.
  • Won't be too young looking at all.  dooo eeeet.
  • I think the colors are pretty, Jill.

  • Thank you! Just wanted to get opinions Smile
  • if you cut multiple layers of fabric @ a time, and just use fabric glue and string, your bunting might not take too long (I just love bunting)
And I think those colours are pretty.

this pic off the knot is similar colours to your pic.
or you could do a really soft grey and yellow to match.

Do you get them off www.paper>lanternstore.com/
best colour selection I think. Also google LED throwies, might be a good job for your FI?

  • I think if it was just the pinks, it would be a little too kiddie, but the yellow breaks it up nicely.
