Photographer recommendations!

Hi all -

My fiance and I are getting married in Oct 2013 in Ipswich and are looking for a photog - I'm not a fan of the "posed" photos and want something a little more editorial/artistic. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Re: Photographer recommendations!

  • Gary at Photography Your Way is great.  He is located in Peabody.
  • cannot recommend john loconte enough. we used him years ago and still recommend him to everyone. super nice guy and amazing quality for the rates he charges. his website is www.johnlophoto.com and definitely worth meeting imho

    hth!
  • Our photog is awesome!  Beautiful pictures and so great to work with.  She'll listen to what you want and accommodate.  Definitely worth talking to her.

  • Zev Fisher! We have him booked for our Oct 2013 wedding and got our engagement photos with him a few months ago. He is more of a photojournalist so it wouldn't be so posey.
  • Kelly Dillon Photography - she is amazing!
  • I used Portrait New England for my wedding last May and they were fantastic. They are very reasonable too. They definitely aren't posey and we hardly noticed they were there most of the time.
I think they are based out of central Ma but they shot my wedding in southern Maine and didn't charge me anything for travel.
  • We are using 1026photography
  • I can not say enough about our photographer!  Bill & Naome @ Portrait New England are fun, creative and affordable.  We did our engagement session and I was a bit nervous at first, but they acted so nice and natural, like people we had already known for a long time.  We had a great time!  (Even my FI liked them alot!)

    Good luck!Wink
  • I highly recommend Click Imagery!
    Photobucket
  • I also recommend Portrait New England.  We love that we had our package created for us and what we wanted and then they even made the the package fit into our budget.  Bill and Naome are great They are a husband and wife team so you get two photographers in your package and two styles...photojournalism and artisic best of both worlds

We had our e session a couple of months ago and love our pictures we are so excivted to get married next year and have them take our pictures.

ALso I know they are offering a promotion where you could win your entire package free..they are giving one away a month...that would be amazing to win...

  • Paul S. Robinson Photography is an excellent choice for editorial and photojournalistic style wedding photography.
  • Just had our engagement pictures done by Ruth Eileen Photography.  They came out great!
  • Heather Parker is fantastic. She did our engagement, wedding, and an anniversary shoot for us. If you are looking for a more editorial fashion style she's your gal!

  • Definitely check out Scott Metzger.  We used him for our wedding and loved him.  Unfortunately we got married too long ago so our slideshow link isn't active anymore to show you our pics, but he's a great photographer with a great eye, a super nice guy, and reasonably priced.  Here's his website

  • The photographer we hired was Heather Parker. The photos were up for six months but are no longer accessible. She and her assistant were so nice and we didn't even notice they were there at our reception yet got so many photos of things we didn't even know happened. We are so thankful for that! One thing worth mentioning is that she's a quick thinker and does what it takes to get the job done.... even if it starts pouring during your ceremony lol

  • Another vote for Heather Parker. She really was the best. We cherish our pictures all the days.
  • Wow nantucketirish it rained on your wedding ceremony? Your photo is so cool. We also had Heather for our photographer and while we didn't have downpours or any disasters, she seemed like the type of person who could pull through anything! Most of the photos she took for us are very documentary rather than just me and DH smiling at the camera or other posey type of shots. The albums she gives we the best we saw after meeting with four other photographers.

I would recommend my photographer Holly Redmond. She was a photojournalist for 10 years before she switched to wedding photography! She is doing our wedding in June of next year and did our engagement pictures. I love her portfolio online and her prices are great and are listed on her website which is: http://www.hollyredmondphoto.com/
Check out my wedding blog for great New England venues! http://anewenglandwedding.blogspot.com/
  • My friend just used Bradley Johnson Photography. He's just starting out (just graduated from NESOP) and he's great.  He's definitely more photojournalistic than about all posed shots. Her pictures came out really nice.

  • Heather parker was who we used. She was friendly enough but kept out of the way so our guests could still enjoy the day without having it seem like paparazzi were invading our wedding :)
