Weekend Updates :)

Fill us in on your WR and NWR things you did this past weekend. :)

Re: Weekend Updates :)

  • WR: We bought Fi's ring on Saturday. And then on Sunday, i started the construction of our invitations, I hit a road bump though, as we were going to use cute little heart shaped eyelets to hold the pockets together, and the eyelets arn't long enough to go through two layers of cardstock....

NWR: Watched Fi's neice on Friday night, his daughter was with us so she had a play day with her on Saturday. Fixed corned beef and cabbage for my in laws and parents for st. pattys day. Fi said i really blew his mom away with my cooking :) that was a nice plus! And i highlighted and colored my hair :)

  • WR: Very productive and I'm feeling good! FINALLY found and bought shoes I liked, spoke with the ceremony musician for the first time (she's the organist at the church we're using), signed up for a Lancome makeup trial/event at our local L&T, bought FI's shirt and belt, ordered favors, and received the shower dress I ordered.  We have a few odds and ends left, but I can't believe how close to done we are already!

NWR: Went shopping at some awesome outlets (which is where we happened to get most of the WR stuff), and then went out to our favorite bar for St. Paddy's.  Next weekend is FI's birthday, so I went to the grocery and got most of the things for that, too.

  • WR: Nothing really still focusing on school before I get back into planning.

NWR: My FI came to visit me at school. I finalized my resume and started applying for jobs! Ahh wish me luck! :)
  • Colstj: Good Luck on the job front! I know its not always easy, but fingers crossed! What field are you going into?

NWR: My weekend was practically all about NWR activities. Saturday was spring cleaning around the Chaos house, top to bottom clean as a whistle. Good thing too, it was just starting to give me the heebies. I need order and we were definitely far from it. Saturday night we spent having a game night with friends, which was okay, but slightly disappointing. My MOH, who is my BFF has an 8 month old, and unfortunately, has become less than fun lately. More often than not, I am sure she would rather not deal with anyone other than her DS, which I understand on the one hand, but not to the detriment of others. I think it frustrates her husband too, because he seemed just as disappointed she cut game night short too.

Sunday was a fun day with the Pup. I have a golden retriever named Reese who will be turning 1 this coming thursday. We got him a new harness to help with the pulling (which worked wonders) So sunday was filled with lots of long walks and hanging outside and enjoying the Sunshine.

WR: the only thing i managed to do was to call a cake baker back and schedule a tasting for this coming Weds. Which should be delicious. I am really looking forward to it. I also received in my scrabble tiles I ordered to do some DIY table numbers. Once I get some finished pics, I will be sure to post for all you ladies!

  • CallMeMRsChaos: Human Resources. I am really hoping something turns up sooner than later. I have already applied for 8 jobs and I plan to continue applying places until I've landed something. I am just hoping this isn't a super long process. :/
  • WR: We started registering on Saturday and also had a nice sit down talk about where we are in wedding planning.

NWR: It was 75 degrees in WI in March... unheard of! We spent most of the days walking our dog and playing outside. It was a great weekend!

  • Sunshine811: I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life, and I can never remember it being 80 degrees in March before this.  I can't believe how nice it is outside!

WR: Nothing, other than researching hair salons to do my hair and make-up on the wedding day.

NWR: We had friends visiting for the weekend.  Friday night we had a grill out and game night, and then Saturday we went out to a nice dinner and had a few drinks to celebrate St. Patty's.  The rest of the weekend, I just enjoyed the beautiful weather we've been having.
  • WR: Assembled our mostly DIY invitations with the help of FI and both of our moms. FMIL has beautiful handwriting, so I'm super thankful that she addressed the envelopes. Also had my first dress fitting.

NWR: Visited our families. Went to see my step dad's bluegrass band perform. Had dental and hair appointments. Watched the season finale of The Walking Dead with FI.
  • WR:  We looked at wedding bands for fun.  I found a more significant band I will get for when I'm not wearing my e-ring.  I have to save for this one though lol

NWR:  Celebrated St. Patrick's Day and our friends' birthdays.  Attended a fundraiser dinner.  Went to a family party.
  • NWR:  Was on vacation in Boston visiting my sisters and friends.   Had a great time showing my FI around town.

WR:  Was not supposed to do anything but my sisters surprised me with a small bachelorette party.   Dinner out at a swanky restaurant with friends and then we went to a drag queen show!

  • WR: Finished my card holder as I showed in previous thread. Ordered candy bar bags and paper drinking straws for reception. Figured out our envelope printing templates so they are ready to go when we are ready to print. Checked out some curly willow branches in a scrap pile at a wood mill for ceremony decorations and we will go pick those up next week. Made plans to go visit my dress on Thursday that came in, wee! Mailed in our catering contract and deposit.

NWR: Saturday was a good friends' birthday so we went to a local pub and left when it started filling up to go home and have some cake. Made some really awesome home made pizzas for dinner tonight. I love how they never come out round.
  • WR: Not a whole lot- did online research for some DIY projects I need to get started. Made an appointment at Sephora to have a "makeover" so I can learn some stuff and pick up supplies. Contacted a local person about alterations but I think I may stick with DB.

NWR: We went out Friday night for a friend's birthday and that was fun. Then stuck around home for the rest of the weekend- grocery shopping, yard work, got some seeds for our first attempt at gardening! Made pizza on Saturday night and pasta primavera on Sunday, just nice spring-y fun!

  • WR: Went to Ohio for 5 days to accomplish a bunch of wedding stuff. First, went to a group tasting my caterer held. Unfortunately, not one thing that we selected for our menu was at the tasting. Did find out that I want to add the bruschetta to the list of things we are going to serve at cocktail hour. I usually hate bruschetta but this was the best tasting thing I've had in a long time...and the first piece of bruschetta I've ever liked. Picked out the plates, silverwear, cups, etc...that we are renting for our tables. Finished putting the lace on my table runners. Looked at 10 hotels for our block, have it down to three....will be picking two. Booked our transportation. Sent in deposit for our photobooth. We were suppose to register but ran out of time. I think we decided on Maui for the honeymoon. Returned some wedding shoes I ordered that were a bit uncomfy, looked for more but couldn't find any. I think that's it!

NWR: Went to a car show and felt old because the car I liked the most was a buick. (It had amazing seats....I do alot of driving). Celebrated st. pattys day by getting way to drunk....and I got to see one of my bridesmaids being way too sober....found out she is preggers! She'll be 34 weeks at the wedding-yikes! I am super happy for them because they've been trying for a long time. Oh and go Bobcats and Bucks!
  • WR- went with my mom to pick out shower invites/envelopes (is it terrible I like my shower invite more than the front runner wedding invite?. Helped pick out favor tags for shower. Bought ribbon for pew bows. Went and did a tasting for the pierogi bar we are doing at 10pm. We decided on potato and cheese, sauerkraut, potato and bacon, mushroom and onion, broccoli cheddar, and spinach and mozzarella. some traditional/ethic and some fun flavors! This is one of my favorite surprises for our guests!

NWR- went on a 5.1 mile walk Friday to take advantage of the nice weather in OH. Had to work Saturday.
