sunless tanning worries

Hi ladies! I have used sunless tanning (at home) in the past and want to be tan(ish) for my wedding but do not want to go tanning bc I am against it. Anyway my concern is the tanner rubbing off onto my wedding dress... I have never gone for a mystic tan or an airbrush tan but does anyone know if some are less prone to tranfer than others? I wore a white dress for my shower and when I looked at it the next day I saw that it was stained under the straps.

My go-to self-tanner is Fake Bake lotion. (Stay away from the spray, mousse, gell, etc.) I know Ulta carries it. For about $30 you'll have 10+ applications, and it comes with gloves so your palms won't stain. My bridal shower is this Saturday and I'm planning on applying it the next 3-4 nights before bed. It has NO SMELL and very little transfer. You can build up your coverage depending on how tan you want to be. Just be sure to follow the directions. You may even want to look online for some tips and pointers. You won't be disappointed!

I've always liked the spray tanners... do they transfer more??? they are so much easier to apply to my back and evenly!

hhmmmm I havne't tried Fake Bake's spray but I read that it's just a mess and gets everywhere! If you can have someone help you apply the lotion on your back that would be ideal. Any other airbrush or Mystic tans will transfer if you you have them applied within 48 hours of your wedding :-/

I did a Versaspa spray tan 2 days before my wedding and still a little did get on ithe inside of my dress. I always recommend airbrush tanning for your wedding day (where a person sprays you). Try your local board for a rec. But there's no guarantee you won't get some on the dress no matter what you use.

I've done Mystic, Versa and had an airbrush tan. Out of the 3, the airbrush worked the best and she color-matched to my skin very well (no orange, or creepy looking hands). However, she did say not to wear white for 2 days afterwards, 3 days if I was an excessive sweater (which I am).

I airbrushed for my Vegas bach party. Our shirts were white and after a night on the strip, I had an orange rim in my shirt. Gross! It washed out easily, but I won't take that chance w/ my wedding dress. Just make sure you listen/read the directions on showering and when you can wear white again. You have some time b4 your wedding, so do some "tan trials." Good luck!

thanks ladies! I am going to try the airbrushing for my b-pic session next weekend. they said it lasts over a week and there is a tuesday special so I think I'll try that! (my pics are sunday) ... or did you find that it faded faster than that???

i did an airbrush tan and didn't like it at all, but could be just where i had it done. they didn't have fans or anything to dry u so i left feeling very sticky. and i also had a lot of brown on my knuckles and wrists. i had much better luck with spray tanning in a booth, but again, probably just where i had it done. the airbrush tan did last over a week though.

i went and did the versa tan. I like it but there were some dots on my arm (the underside) where the mist barely hit. kind of looked like tan freckles... so i'll have to work on that.
