To Garter or Not to Garter That is the Question...

So we are not doing a garter toss. FI doesnt feel comfortable going up my dress in front of everyone there lol And there are like 4 single guys attending our wedding (same goes for bouquet toss that there is pretty much no one to catch it lol)

My question is... am i still supposed to wear a garter underneath or is it pointless because i'm not throwing anything? Side note: my dress is fairly fitted in the thigh area to begin with so i'd rather not but i would hate to find out that i ruined some important tradition by not wearing one lol

I would say no, not to wear it if you aren't doing the garter toss and your dress is tighter fitting to where you might see it. You can always throw it on later that night when you are alone with your groom for fun if youve already bought one! We are doing the garter toss and i'm already not looking forward to wearing this extra thing around my leg all day!

We are not doing a garter toss and I am also not getting well. I don't feel like spending the money on this. So it is totally up to you whether or not you get one. IMO garter toss/bouquet toss is just so uncomfortable for the single people out there I did way too many to make sure I didn't want one at my own wedding.

We aren't doing the garter toss so I'm not wearing one! Agree wtih PP if you already bought one, wear it later that night

We're doing one but even if we didn't then I'd still wear one because we have one made out of my Mom's dress which is very special since my sister wore it as well. We're not tossing that one and bought one specifically to toss.

If you're not doing one, don't wear one. They're not comfy at all...Unless you do what BeachLover said! haha

I am not doing the garter toss but I THINK I am going to end up buying a really pretty one that I found on etsy, mostly just because I think think garters are fun, I want to include it in a few "accessories" detail pictures (I think it was Colleen that I pinned one of these from, but really pretty "something old, something new, etc." photos where you group all your items together on a pretty table or something to get shots of everything), and because I think it will be a fun surprise for my groom to find

The ones that I like are lace so I don't think they will be too hot or be visible under my dress.

See and i found a really pretty one on etsy too that i want but i'm afraid it's just cause i'm in love with 'all the little details' of a wedding and not thinking if it will drive me nuts all day lol And also i saw this pretty pic of a shot from behind where the bride has lifted her dress some to run thru a field.. (or something silly like that) and you get a glimps of the garter and i thought it was really pretty and that i might like that, i'm having the same dilema with the 'i do, me too' forks that i cant decide if i want to spend the money for that one little moment or not lol

We are not doing any type of garter toss- but I did buy a custom "Avengers" themed garter from Etsy. Just wanted something fun to suprise my fi with when the dress comes off..... We are both major geeks so that helps too. I love Avengers and so does he.

I am not doing a garter toss, but I got a custom made Cookie monster garter...lol. Sounds silly...but all my students at school buy me cookie monster things and it is what I am known for. I figured it could count as my something blue

We're not doing the garter toss and I'm not wearing one. I can't imagine it would be that annoying to wear if you're really in love with one, but I guess I never thought about it that much.
