A cousin and her husband have asked me to pick out a gift. (by tomorrow) and I have no idea what to choose.
they said up to $500 which is incredibly generous but I can't think of anything that we need. I don't want to just pick something for the sake of a present.
We need a TV, we need electronics but the things we have in mind cost more.
This couple would usually give money but due to certain issues this week they have only access to their credit card and so have to use it for the gift. (long banking story)
I don't mind not receiving a gift from them but they keep calling.
Is it wrong in this case to just say we are having trouble thinking of something but we were saving for a few things at (name a couple stores) and a gift card to any of those stores would be appreciated..
I would never ask for a gift card exceot they want us to tell them what we want and that's what would really be useful. I would honestly just like them to come and have a great time. I already told them anything they choose would be great but they won't do that, they want to know from us what we want.
What to say now?
