Hi all,
I just got married on May 15th and have nothing but good things to say about all of my vendors...I'd rate each one at least an A+. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be glad to help.
Venue: Newton White Mansion - We loved the location for our outdoor ceremony. What really sold us on it though was that it had a workable indoor option in case it rained.
Caterer: Basikneads - Basikneads was great to work with, Lena and Cornell were both wonderful, flexible and professional. The food was SO delicious...we were happy with the tastings, but the actual reception dinner was even better!
Coordinator: Graceful Weddings...We loved the idea of getting two coordinators (Anne and Anna) for a very reasonable price...less expensive than most of the DOCs charge for one coordinator. Lauren stepped in for and Anna a couple months prior to our wedding and did a fantastic job. Both Anne and Lauren were extremely detail oriented and went above and beyond.
Photographer: Cassidy Duhon - We just got our proofs and I was thrilled! Cassidy's work is truly amazing. He is also a blast to work with...when we were getting ready before the wedding, I actually felt like he made a great addition to the wedding party. Aside from being a brilliant photographer, he is very affordable!! You can check out the pics at http://duhonphotography.com/
Ceremony musicians: Melissa Tardiff Dvorak (harpist) - Melissa had a violinist accompanying her and they were beautiful. Melissa was very accommodating regarding our song requests.
DJ: Kirkabees - We had Kirk Rubley and all the great reviews about him are true. He really kept the reception moving and was super helpful, even getting drinks for us.
Florist: Growing Wild - Barbara at Growing Wild is wonderful, affordable and visionary...even when all you want is white flowers
Cake: Fiona's Bakery and Amphora - We went with Fiona's for our wedding cake and Amphora for our "flower girl cake." I have to say that Fiona's cake was the best wedding cake I have ever had. We were pleasantly surprised because we came away from the tasting thinking it was good, but not "best ever." I loved it so much I'm thinking of ordering a cake for my husband's birthday! Our cake from Amphora was great/tasty too, definitely a more creative design, but that's why we chose them for it.
Officiant: Georgiana Atkins Havil - Georgiana is the consummate professional and had great ideas for the ceremony.
Dress: Romona Keveza from Jeanette's in Manassas - My salesperson Joan was so helpful...and the store had the best price on my dress (definitely research!). When a problem arose with my veil, they took care of the issue right away.
Shoes: Bestballroomshoes.com - Not exactly the prettiest shoes, but very comfortable
BM Dresses: Netbride
Hair Stylist: Anastasia at Dessange Paris of Tysons - Anastasia was a saint who put up with my crazy bridezilla hair moments. I recommend her for up-dos, color cuts, everything!
Make-up artist: Nancy from Bloomingdale's Bobbi Brown - Thank God for Nancy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this woman!
Invitations: Allison Barnhill Designs (and Gourmet Invitations for poster size seating charts) - I was thrilled with my invitations and accessories.
Rings: Mervis - We worked with Jeannie and couldn't have been happier. She went out of her way to make sure everything was right.
Transportation: ALA Ride - My husband handled the transportation and I have to admit I was a little worried, but ALA was great. The vehicles were really nice and the drivers were super friendly.
Videographer: Eric Nicholas from A & E productions - We haven't seen video yet but he was very professional and not intrusive
