Four Weddings...

So the show will be around my neck of the woods during May I got an email about inquiring it. It's tempting. Free honeymoon. But the other side of the coin is having others judge my wedding and seeing there dislikes on tv later would upset me. Idk. If I tell Fi he might want to try out lol what do you think??

If you can separate reality from fiction then I think it would be ok. They are going to criticize your day to the nth degree. So if you can go in knowing that and realize it's just a game, then sure. Why not?

  • I don't think I could not take it personal though ... these are our ideas family friends and we like to have a good time. I don't want people judging and then every one gets to see it on tv lol
  • For my own personal curiousity, I want you to do it, but I would never do it myself.  I wouldn't want TV cameras at my wedding or other peole tearing it apart.

Thats what I don't want either ... I think I'd cry if they trashed my dress or venue.

I havent applied I think there's a series of interviews ... I know MIL will want me too. I'm thinking how great a free honeymoon!

  • lol I don't know that is a tough decision. Knowing that some of these people spend tens of thousands on their weddings, and are normally the ones who win, I wouldn't be able to do it cause I wouldn't stand a chance. So I would rather just enjoy my wedding without the criticism of so many other people, lol but if you feel you can handle it, go for it! As Mel said, it'd be interesting to see a fellow knottie on there. lol

  • I got the emial as well, but mi fiance is completely opposed to the idea. I don't know if I would do it because of all the previosly mentioned reasons, but as soon as I mentioned it to him he said "NO!" lol so we wont be doing it.
It would be great to win the free honeymoon and if you are willing to have people judge your wedding you could try applying for it.

  • I love that show but I would never go on it. Unlike yourself, no one will feel anything is perfect about your wedding. I always see them critize the most insignificant details that bride couldn't have control over and using that against them. If you want the free honey moon then great! It's your decision! I know it would kill me to look back later and see the critiques about my wedding though.

  • It's only the winner that gets the free honeymoon right? I wouldn't do it for all those reasons plus I already booked our honeymoon. Also I probably wouldnt want to spend three weekends going to random girls' weddings.

    That's how I feel too.
  • I don't know if I'd be able to do it myself (ditto on all the reasons already listed).... However, I think it'd be a very unique opportunity and something very cool to experience...

I'm stressed enough about my wedding turning out as close to perfect as possible w/o worrying about all the flaws being pointed out on TV for the world to see....

BUT with great risk comes great reward. :)

This is true ... something to consider.
  • I would say go apply and see...during the process you might find other reasons to do or not to do it...like you might gt a free wedding video out of it...or they might require you to refilm certain parts (ive heard they do that on most reality tv) and THAT would be a huge reason for me not ot do it, like if it was interrupting the actual wedding.

  • I vote no. The odds are against you and the show isn't even fair. They need to have equal budget weddings against each other, but they don't. You will get your feelings hurt even if you win. Then every time you are reminded of your wedding, you will likely not have good memories. :
