Budget Gifts

I bought the first part of my BM gift, and I need to buy the rest. I am running out of ideas though.

I need to get the BM/GM gifts - FI's groomsmen is his brother (under 21) so I want to keep it age-apporpriate. Do you think a gift card would be appropriate? (Like maybe game stop?) FI's Best Man is flying in, so I want to make sure whatever we give him is small.

Now I run into even more issues with our parents - both of our mom's have allergies to certain metals. We don't have any engagement photos or anything, so a photo album would be ridiculous.

Oh, and my budget: About $40/pp.

Any ideas?

Re: Budget Gifts

  • Let your FI handle his GM's gifts.  They really should be from him.  If his brother really is a gamer, then yes, that is a fine gift, but I like the idea of not doing gift cards.  FWIW, I don't have a clue what I'm getting my girls yet.

For parents, I was wondering the same sort of thing....and had posted on the E board about parents' gifts.  We will probably do wedding albums after the fact.

  • FI is working 2 jobs at the moment, and possibly taking on a third job on the weekends..... so I am trying to get him ideas. :)

We treated ours like birthday presents, like you are.  I got my one BM a Star Trek flask from ThinkGeek.  My Man of Honor (my brother) I got titanium sporks from the same place.  I got my sister (last BM) a set of Alice in Wonderland coasters from Etsy.  I'm rounding each of their presents out with a giftcard.
FI bought his one brother (GM) a night in the hotel for the wedding as his bday and WP gift.  His other two GM are receiving sports memoribilia has their presents.
We're struggling with present for our two ringbearers, but mostly because they are 3 and they have everything they could possibly want or need.
    We were about $50/person

  • Per the few responses I got on the E-board apparently parents' gifts aren't normal....I don't know what we will end up doing.
