Question: Menus

How many of you are having menus displayed? Are you making them or how are you handling it?

We are having a buffet for the food. We already picked out the food items, but having a menu displayed didn't really occur to me. Do you put one at each table, or have a big one set up somewhere? Could I get away with not having one? Sorry for all the questions, lol. I clearly have no idea what to do about these.

    We are going to do a double sided frame for table numbers. So one side will have the number, and the other side will have the menu.  We too, are doing a buffet with 3 entree options. I personally just like to know what I'm eating and what my options are before I go up there and see a line of choices.

    We're doing family styl meal and will not have menus. though, I like the idea of one per table. One for every guest seemed like a little bit of a waste to me.

    We are doing a buffet and we are not doing menus. I'm considering one framed menu for the beginning of the table. We are doing a chalkboard bar menu to display at the bar station, that way guests know what options they have.

    I am doing family style and made a big chalkboard out of an old picture frame.  Will be writing the menu on that and put it on an easel by the entrance.

    We are doing a buffet and I got menus from vistaprint. I used rack cards and got them with a groupon so they were almost free. I'm not sure yet if we will do a couple on each table or put them at each seat.

    We're doing plated, but with no options (everybody gets a piece of steak and a piece of salmon unless they have allergies/special needs, the caterer doesn't do it any other way). We're putting one menu in a double-sided plastic frame on the table.

    Thanks ladies!

    I think I'm going to shoot an email to the venue coordinator (who is in charge of food) and ask if they put out little signs or anything to denote what the food is (it just occurred to me that they did this at the tasting, so they might do it at the wedding?). If it turns out they don't do, then I will just see if I end up having time/extra money to make a menu. I won't make it a priority though.
