Gifts for Parents

What gifts are you giving your parents for your wedding?  We don't know what to get!

Re: Gifts for Parents

  • We are on a super tight budget so we are going to be getting them photobooks.  Since we have the rights to our pictures we'll probably buy a groupon to one of the photobook sites closer to the wedding.  Also getting the mom's hankies but that is out of my own money, not the wedding budget.
  • They are getting photobooks, but that can't really be their gift because FMIL is paying for our photographer and therefore the photobooks. We were thinking of a nice picture frame to display a wedding photo and a  gift card to a nice restaurant in the area.

  • I got my mom a hand stamped metal bookmark (with our initials and wed date) and I will add some charms/beads to it. She loves to read and I know she will like that. I am making a garden stone for my FI's mother because is a big gardener. It will read "Love makes a family grow" which is fitting because we will all be living together soon ;)
I am making cuff links for my dad and will have a handkerchief embroidered with the text "Of all the walks we've taken, this one is my favourite."

  • We're getting them photobooks as well. Also with a groupon of gift card to a photo printing site. It was practical for us as my parents are divorced and I dislike my mom's husband. This way we can do couple gifts. I didn't want to buy him a gift so we went with couple's gifts. We're also going to do something extra and special for my dad since he's paying for the wedding. =) But I haven't decided on that yet...
  • I'm not sure yet. I think a photobook is a good idea and I may do that and something. We really only have to buy for my parents. FH's mother passed away in November and he doesn't really have a relationship with his father.

My father is paying for a large percentage of the wedding and my mother is helping me arrange all the flowers. They're both big foodies so i may get them something along those lines. They're divorced so I have to come up with two ideas.

I'll probably get a photobook for my sister too, she's been a big help.

I am also trying to figure out gifts for our officiant and photographer. Both are close friends that have refused to let us pay them.
