So I'm trying to come up with a cheap way to decorate our reception area. The wedding ceremony is in a gazebo in the same park, so people can walk to the reception, which is in a big cabin. People will be going in and out from the deck to the inside - I would like the deck to kind of be the dancing area (it's going to be May in Louisiana so it should be plenty warm even after dark...though I just realized I might need to decorate with citronella candles outside). The inside will be set up with most of the tables and chairs, and it's air conditioned.
Are balloons tacky? I was thinking this would be a good cheap alternative, but all the arches and everything I have seen look like a high school prom. With one exception- hanging them from the ceiling in clusters. I need something simple, because the centerpieces will be peacock feathers in wine bottles which is already pretty loud on it's own.
Any suggestions? Help!
