  Congratulations and welcome to the June 2013 board! You're going to love it here! Good for you for getting your date and venue booked so quickly! Don't feel like your rushing at all! I feel like the sooner you start getting things booked, the less stress there will be in the long run! I also have my venue squared away. My next step is to start looking into my vendors so that I can hope to get the ones I want!

  congratulations and welcome to the board! your proposal sounds so romantic!  We booked our venue back in october. The next big thing on my list to book is photography. June is a popular wedding month and the good photographers will probably be snapped up quick!

  Ditto sparkles. Once I get a venue booked, next on my list will be a photographer. After that... I'm not sure! Probably looking for a dress that's the part I'm most looking forward to!

  Congrats and welcome to the board!  I'm just doing some research online until I'm about 12 months out--i'm planning from 6,000 miles away so basically have to have meetings and make decisions at certain points in time (i.e. when I'm in Boston to do it)...since my venue is also booked, my next big to do is the dress!

  Congrats!

  I booked backed in August, believe it or not the venue I wanted was booked for the dates we could do in May, so the next avaiklable was June 8.  Luckily our venue came with a caterer, so that is also checked off the list.  I also already purchased my dress.  It was on sale for $550 and i loved it.  I didn't want to pass it up because otherwise I would have fallen for one two or three times that price.

  
  

  Next came photography.  I emailed (and compiled a huge excel file) 70, yes 70 photographers I liked and mapped out all their features (include E-session, length of coverage, cost, DVD of images, travel fee, etc.).  I interviewed like 8 or 9 in person and picked my photographer like 2 weeks ago.  They are all pretty busy right now, this is their "booking" season so I wanted to snag a good one at their 2012 price, most will increase prices this month so I wanted to save a couple hundred dollars.

  
  

  Now, I'm not doing much of anything.  At some point this year I will get on the contracts for my florist and DJ and figure out more of the other details, but Im on a wedding break lol.

  Hi Congrats LORYSGALVAO !! My boyfriend proposed to me 3 days before Christmas because he knows its my favorite time of hte tyear too!! yay!  Where did you end up booking your venue?? I'm still hunting for that perfect locatioN!!

  Im getting married June 29, 2013! I have already booked my venue. Next I got the DJ because I have heard some horror stories and knew my friend had a great DJ so I didn't waste anytime hiring him. I also blocked off hotel rooms and got the transportation! Im working on the photographer and then I will be taking a break! Goodluck!
