Just Engaged and Proposals

Best Engagement Story Ever!

Names have been redacted by the moderator for the internet safety of others.

One of my girl friends got engaged this past weekend and I have to say it was the BEST proposal that I've ever heard or been a part of.

Lynne and Cale met a little over a year ago and became friends.  They started dating in August and celebrated their five months this past Saturday which is when he proposed.  Lynne is a graduate of Texas A&M University and 100% Aggie, so fittingly; Cale took her to A&M for their first real date to eat at her favorite restaurant, Cafe Eccell. Fast forward 5 months...

REDACTED

Let me first say, this is one of the most spiritual couples I know, so if you’re not a believer, their proposal might not be as interesting to you.  Lynne and Cale were headed to A&M Saturday for what Lynne thought was to celebrate two of their friends' birthdays and then make time for dinner, just the two of them for their five months.  Cale is a romantic and they celebrate every single one of their month anniversaries.

Saturday Cale left Lynne at her friend, REDACTED's, house while he ran to pick up something for his friend for his birthday.  About an hour after he left the doorbell rang.  Some guy, REDACTED, (one of Cale's friends) came to the door at REDACTED's with a card telling her a limo was going to pick her up at 3pm sharp, a dress of hers, and leggings. She had 40 minutes to get ready and was shaking because she says she knew then what was happening.  When the limo arrived, Cale's two friends REDACTED and REDACTED got out and Lynne and REDACTED joined them in the limo where she was handed a second card.

Stop 1: The limo took them to Cafe Eccell, the place she and Cale had their first REAL date. There, awaiting me was 3 more of Cale's friends- REDACTED, and REDACTED & REDACTED. Natalie read a third letter from Cale and each of them recited a Bible verse Cale had picked out for them to read.. She was handed cards with "Self control", "gentleness", and "faithfulness" written on them. Each are fruits of the Spirit and their bible verses correlated to the specific fruit.

Stop 2: The Aggie Ring! Awaiting at the ring were her friends REDACTED & REDACTED, and his friends REDACTED, and REDACTED.. Again, another letter was read to her and each of them read Bible versus Cale had picked out for them that correlated to a fruit of the Spirit: "Goodness", "Kindness", and "Patience".

Stop 3: The Century Tree.   Awaiting there was her friend REDACTED and with the help of REDACTED, she was presented with "Peace" and "Joy". Another letter from Cale was read along with  two more Bible versus.

Stop 4: Kyle Field!!! This was so awesome because their family was a part of it! REDACTED and REDACTED (Cale's brother and his wife), and REDACTED and REDACTED (Lynne’s sister and her husband) were waiting for her with the last and most important fruit of the Spirit: “Love”

Her brothers sent her off to walk out to the 50 yard line of Kyle Field.

There was a whole set up waiting for her including another letter to her with instructions to open the trunk.  Inside the trunk, were several treasures.  If you've seen the movie "Up", there was a replica of Ellie's 'My Adventure Book', but Cale had it customized it to 'Our'. Also, inside the chest were all the letters and notes Cale had written her, even before they were dating... And all the corks from wine shared through out their relationship.  He also had one last letter to her, ending with telling her to turn around when she was ready.

Once he made it to her, Cale began the process of washing her feet while describing the spiritual significance of the act of washing feet in the Bible.  Once he was finished, while on bent knee he proposed!

Agree with you guys 100%. Also, she slipped and said it was her in the bolded part above. Unless she was there, but that'd be weird too. This whole thing is just odd.
  • I just came across this post and even though the post is edited, I can see the link and first and last names in the quoted one still. Just an FYI :)

  • REALLY, You must be ashamed of yourself- to chicken to even use your own name, but willing to jeopardize friendships. You must have not got enough attention as a child. If your so religious, you should be praying for forgiveness, because a true Christian would not act this way.

Are you trying to make yourself feel better, or better than others?

Its kind of sad =( I hope your friends find it in their heart to forgive you.
