NWR: Friend Killed Last Night..

Girls, I know I've been asking for lots of prayers recently but I could use a few more.

One of my childhood friends/ family friends was killed in a motorcycle accident last night. He lost control of his bike and stupidly wasn't wearing his helmet. They resuscitated him but he was braindead.

My parents are devested as am I. Our parents are best friends and biking is close to our heart as my dad is a biker.

My friend, Mikel, JUST got married in October of last year and his wife delievered a sweet baby boy not even a month ago. :(

Please pray for him, his wife Allison, his parents, his friends, and for my family. We are going to try to make it to his funeral this weekend but not sure if we can afford the plane ticket.

To vent even more (forgive me, girls).. I feel like the last 2 years of my life have been filled with tragic, unexpected deaths that have really rocked us.

1. My best friend's dad was killed in the Haiti earthquake will doing Missonary work. Her dad and I were close and it's terrible to see the effect his death has had on my best friend.

2. My cousin was murdered by her boyfriend in front of their child. He hit her with his car and dragged her body down the road.

3. Another close friends' mom died randomly one day. No one found her for 3 weeks..

And now Mikel makes 4. I feel like I don't even get time to mourn and collect myself before someone else is taken. :( I'm sorry for complaining and feeling sorry for myself during this time. I just feel emotionally drained. Everytime the phone rings I feel like I'm going to get terrible news.

If you've read this far, thank you. I appreciate any prayers.

Wow, your story definitely brought tears down my face.  I'm so sorry that you and your friends / family have had to endure such loss and so close together.  I've felt that kind of pain when it felt like I was losing grandparent after relative after family friend.  That's tough.  God will make you stronger for it, but that doesn't necessarily make it any easier.  I'll be praying for you to lean on God during this sorrowful time.  :'-(

    Many prayers sent your way.

I know its cliche but God won't ever burden you with more than you can handle.  I have felt the way you feel now, that another tragic event in your life might crush you spiritually, physically, and definitely emotionally.  The only comfort I had was that phrase.  I would say it again and again sometimes.  God is in control!  I pray for peace in your heart.

Faith, I am so sorry your family and you are going through another tragic loss. I will be praying for your family, your friends family and you. Just remember, God doesn't give you more then you can handle.

Oh my goodness. I'm praying for you and your friends and all involved. This touches a special place in my heart and brings tears to my eyes too. My dad is a biker as well and 3 years ago (July 12 actually, so It's almost the 3 year mark!), my dad and I were in a bad motorcycle accident. We were on the freeway going 70mph and the back tire blew. I had a lot of injuries, but nothing that couldn't heal over time. I am soooo thankful that I put on my mom's full-coverage helmet just before leaving on our trip!!! It saved my life! I see that you're from FL - I used to live in Orlando - I can NOT believe that many states (including FL) don't have a helmet law.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I pray that God will help you get through this and that He give you peace and healing.

    Ecclesiastes 3
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
