Recommendations for Wedding Consultant/Coordinator

Hi!

We're two weeks post-engagement and excitedly planning for a March 5, 2011 wedding in my hometown of Litchfield Park. My fiance and I live in DC and both sets of parents are in AZ. We've decided to hire a wedding consultant to help pull together all of the details -- we're doing our reception in my parents' backyard with a tent, etc. but I want to make sure we have a point person to help make sure all of our bases are covered, especially with FH and I being all the way on the east coast. So, I am hoping for some tips on wedding consultants -- who have you had a GOOD experience with, and who has been less than you expected? We don't need someone to do everything for us (i.e., I'm taking care of invitations, wardrobe, etc.) so putting together a tailored package to meet our needs is important.

    I HIGHLY recommend Victoria Canada, she is amazing!  Othere fantastic planners are Rhonda Rush of Impact Events and Jennifer Thye of Imaoni Events (I may have spelled that one wrong).

    Congrats on your engagement :) I was just recently married on June 5th and I think the best thing I did in the whole wedding process was hire a wedding coordinator.  I chose A Day to Cherish.  I went with their "Simplicity" package which essentially provides planning services for the month before your wedding and day of wedding coordination but they also have other packages available as well.  I know they've worked with couples who live out of state and are getting married here in AZ so I think that would be helpful in your case. I had the pleasure of working with Cara, Aleasha, Jessica, Lydia, and Stephanie.  I was VERY impressed by their friendliness, professionalism, and organization.  They are an incredibly dynamic team!  They made my wedding day SOOOO enjoyable because they took care of everything and made sure that I didn't stress :)  I had a lot of details and decor setup involved but they never once showed any bit of stress and always seemed to be one step ahead of everything.  I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to hire a wedding coordinator.  I'll post other vendor reviews as soon as I get a chance.  Good luck!

    I may use a DOC, I haven't decided yet. If I do, I'm using Emily Edwards of Your Heart's Desire Wedding Consulting.

    She is my sister's best friend's sister and she was just starting her business when my sister got married 7 or 8 years ago, so she asked if she could help out for free to get some practice in. I was the maid of honor and it was fantastic that she was there. She kept everyone organized and on time and everythign went off without a hitch.

    Emily Edwards is one of the best PERIOD! And she's an iPhone addict which makes here even cooler. She's a rock star.

    My wedding is February 2011 and I am working with Sandy Walker with In Awe Weddings. So far she has been GREAT and I had really great referrals from recent brides. Good Luck!

    I used Katrina Joy because her website was the only one that I found for a wedding coordinator that had prices on her website!

    She was great to work with, and has a lot of inventory - I was able to get a lot of my centerpieces through her :)

    I am using Sherri Lucero from Planned to Perfection. I called Emily at Your Hearts Desire and got this referral. Emily was booked on my day. Sherri si awesome and designs packages based on your needs. Her website is lovetoplan.com. Amazing!
