Need local input

I'm the MOB and we're planning a destination wedding in Lake Mary in August. Bride is in TX, MOB in NH, wedding party scattered everywhere!  Would love feedback from anyone who has been or is going to be married at Lake Mary Event Center.  Do you have a favorite from their required list?  Did you get your cake from a separate baker or use your caterer?  Any other local recommendations (florist, DJ, photographer) would be greatly appreciated.  We're planning to come down in April to choose most of the vendors.
Thanks and best wishes to all!!!!

Hey. First off, congrats to your friend! I LOVE LMEC and I'm getting married there in about 3.5 months! There are a lot of other girls on here getting married there too.

I'm using John Michaels and I love them! Their cakes tasted great too but were more money than I wanted to spend. I am searching for a cake now so I can't recommend who I'm having yet. But Michael from John Michaels is a great guy. He is willing to work with any budget and will help you cut costs in places you might not think of. I highly recommend him! Good luck vendor hunting! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We are all here and willing to help.  :)

EDIT: We are getting married in about 3 months!! Yay  lol

Thanks ladies!  We have been leaning towards Cuisiniers for the caterer.  We'll watch for your vendor updates and recommendations!

Hi there!  Welcome and congrats to the bride.  I am also getting married at LMEC.  I am getting married there in November.  We chose Arthur's as our caterer.  Their food is amazing!  They do not offer the cake though.  That is one of the things I have not decided on yet.  The girls on the board have great suggestions for cake vendors.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Good luck with the planning!

I wasn't married at LMEC but I can wholeheartedly recommend Heather at It's Tasty Too as a cake baker and either Casie from Rebel Belle Photography or Misty Miotto as photographers. Misty did my wedding and Casie did my Trash the Dress - all photos were amazing :) Congratulations to your daughter!
    That's Mrs.skWhitneyAmanda to you!

I'm getting married at LMEC also.  I'm using Cuisiniers for my caterer.  My friend used them for her wedding last year and they were wonderful.  The food tasted great and they were totally on top of everything.  I'm using It's Tasty Too for my cake.  After having tastings at 8 different cake places, it was our top choice.  I'm using Vicki with Peddles for my florist.  She was highly recommended by another bride.  Good luck with the planning!

I am also using Vicki with peddles as my florist too.  I am using Eve's Cakes for my cake.  The cake was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and very inexpensive.  I'm using Puff n Stuff for my caterer.  The lake mary event center is very pretty!  Congrats to you and your daughter!

Welcome! We used Puff N Stuff for catering and cake, Tab McCausland for photography, and Elegante for videographer.

I used John Michaels for my wedding and he was amazing. I got a lot of compliments from my guests on how great the food tasted. Many of them had seconds (and thirds). I also used Its Tasty Too. Heather created the coolest cake for us. It also tasted amazing. I highly recommend both of them.

We went to a friends wedding that had Puff and Stuff as a caterer and it was yummy.  I dont know who their videographer was, but their photographer was Edmund Rhodes and he did a great job.  Their cake was done by Anna Cakes, but I dont know if any of them are preferred vendors there at LMEC.

Thanks all!  You've been very generous with your information and we appreciate it!  Just booked my niece's flight for April when we head up to Orlando to meet with vendors.  There's a lot to cram into 3 days but it will be fun. FI's mother will be joining us too.
    Have a great day!!
