Groomsmen Style

Hello!!
So I am looking for opinions. My wedding colors are Black with a pop of a different color. My maid of honor will be in black with a purple sash, purple flowers and purple shoes and then my bestman will be in black/white with purple vest/tie. The next couple has pink as their color and the next couple blue then my ushers are in black with green and the other usher black with yellow. I am trying to figure out what would look best for the groomsmen...

[QUOTE]Honestly, colored vests and ties or suspenders and ties make me think of HS prom and barbershop quartets. Id do white shirts, black vests and ties, and then use bouts or pocket squares for the "pop of color".

</div><div>I agree.  Matching colored vests/ties reminds me of the prom.  I think you're better off going for black/white with the pop of color being the flowers or pocket square.  </div>

  • Hate colored vests too. I'd do black jackets, white shirt, and if you want to do the suspenders/bowties, I think that's really cute too.

  • Thanks everyone. I really hate the vests too and the groomsmen have told us they really dont care one way or the other what they wear. I have a website that has the suspenders in the exact colors I would need if we go that route.

</div><div>I agree. I was very happy when H picked out his and his groomsmen's attire that they were not wearing colored vests.</div><div>
</div><div>I'm personally not a fan of suspenders and bow ties, but if your groom likes it and is comfortable with it, then go with it. I agree with PP's that black dresses for the bridesmaids would look great and have their pop of color be their bouquets.

  • I think that when you use a lot of colors, the possibility for problems increases in proportion. So I say, No vests, a patterned tie that includes the coordinating colors (if possible) or possibly try to incorporate that color in the boutonierre (sp?).

I've seen a wedding where they tried to get too cutesy with the colors and it didn't work. My preference would be to opt for a single color and then coordinate that color in a subtle fashion with the guys.
