I work with Sean at Hannoush in Westfarms - they will appraise any jewelry for you, but I bet any of their stores will do the same if Buckland Hills or Crystal mall is closer for you.

We got mine appraised at the American Diamond Exchange in Hamden. They are highly reputable and do a great job. We've used them as our jeweler for years and my parents have used them for even longer.

You should be able to get your ring appraised where your FI bought it. We got mine appraised at Pennachio Jewelers in Glastonbury and have it insured through Jeweler's They are also reasonably priced. I believe I pay $89/year for my engagement and wedding ring.

<div>Yes, this! That is what my FI did. And if you purchased it from them, it should be free.</div>
I agree with PP, where FI got ring should appriase it. I got insurance through Jewelers Mutual. I looked up recommendations first and they were well reviewed. I like that if something happens, I can take it to any jeweler, not someone they force me to go to.

That's where mine is insured. Looking back I forgot to write "mutual". My jeweler was actually the one that gave me the info on them and recommended them.
