My Shellac Nail review

I just got the shellac nails done today since I have my bachelorette party this weekend(!!!). So far, I love them. The nail tech told me they do not damage nails like the OPI ones do, cause this is a polish vs a gel and she did not file the nails down.

Since my nails are short and crappy right now anyway, she said it may not last as long on my nails since you need a bit of length to reallly get the polish to hold, but we will see. She did say if I keep up with it, it should help my nails to grow, helping them be nice and natural looking by the wedding. I'll keep you posted, but I know some people asked about this a few weeks back, so I wanted to let you know my experience :)

    What color did you get?

I've had Shellac done twice so far since I'm trying to find the ideal color for my wedding day - I tried Romantique on its own, and Strawberry Smoothie with Romantique layered on top. They were nice (and really lasted), but too opaque (and the colors got chalkier over time). But I fear the sheers - Negligee and Beau - will be too sheer. (Two to three coats of Essie Mademoiselle looks like clear nail polish on me.)

What sucks about Shellac is that you can't just swipe the color on your nail and see how it looks - the curing process means you're kind of stuck with it.

I got shellac done for my wedding. I got a french done (sorry can't remember off hand what pink color she used) but it looked amazing. I got married 10 days ago. I accidently peeled off the polish on my one nail yesterday and it found out it really doesn't damage your natural nail at all. If anything, I feel like it helped my nails grow.  The rest of my nails that have the polish still on them look great. Definitely a lot better than a regular manicure. I'm the type of person that will mess my manicure up within minutes of getting it done, and this was a great solution for me.

It's definitely something I will be doing when I need really nice nails done for something.

I paid $43 and went to a salon/spa in Whitehouse Station, NJ.

I got some kind of light pink, not sure of the name sorry. I wanted a French, but since my nails are short right now, she thought the white would peel. So its just a soft pink color for now, not too sheer, so it looks like there is a color.
