Dark Circles/Thin Hair

...I have more wedding beauty questions than I know what to do with...

Does anyone have any suggestions for dark circles under the eyes?  I've read that cucumber extract is great, but haven't been able to find a product with it.  I've tried a good number of the products on the shelves (the Olay stuff, things from Sephora, Almay, etc. etc.)  But I'm curious if anyone had dark circles and found a product that really worked.

The other question is if anyone has any suggestions on how to get my hair to grow in thicker.  I have baby fine hair to begin with, but I was also recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism (which explained why so much of my hair was coming out in the shower) and that doesn't do anything to help matters.  Again, I've tried lots of products but they haven't done anything to change hair texture/thickness.

TIA!

Re: Dark Circles/Thin Hair

  • The only thing I have to offer for dark circles is look on youtube at kandy johnson. She is an AMAZING makup artist with great tutorials and has one espeically for under eyes. Maybe try the Yes To... skin care line. They have one that is Yes to Cucumbers http://www.yestocarrots.com/category/soothing-/-sensitive-skin?category_id=0000004

Maybe look into extensions for your hair. I don't have too much help there as my hair is so thick I wish it was thinner!

I've been using a MAC eye cream for dark circles and recently started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for my thin hair.

Ironically, I found a Yes To Cumcumbers eyegel at Walmart (about two hours after I posted this!)  I was thrilled!  I'll definitely check out Kandy Johnson though.  I'm kind of a klutz with makeup, which is why I don't just cover the dark circles up.

I'm definitely looking into extensions... mostly just for wedding hair... on a day-to-day basis, I'm ok with having fine hair.  But for the wedding I'd like it if my hair at least held a curl:D

Thanks!  I'm going to look into both of those!

  • I have thin fine hair and there's not really much you can do about it which is why I wear extensions.  I wear the Remy Euronext human hair extensions from Sally's.
  • Ya I was never to into makeup, and I heard about her and watched her tutorials and fell in love! She totally brakes everything down step by step and explains what it does. Be careful though I go to watch one and an hour ends up going by! haha
  • I have both those problems.  My hair is thin and wavy until it rains/is humid, then suddenly it's curly... and not in a cute way.  I'm praying it won't rain on our wedding day! My hair also grows really slowly, so I gave up on my hair and bought a fake bun to wear.

As to the dark circles, I got mine from my mom.  I hadn't intended to do anything about them for the wedding, but then I got a sample of Lancome eye cream and it almost seems like it's working? My circles seem a little lighter.
