So I know it's okay for the wedding party to be uneven... but I don't like that anyway.  Nick has ONE friend, and that's the best man... but there are 2 bridesmaids other than the maid of honor...  Is it okay if the bride chooses groomsmen if the groom seriously can't have ANY?

    Why would you do that? They wouldn't be your FI's GM they would be people you chose to have uneven sides. Leave it alone.

    Agree with PPs. Leave it alone. It's not your job to choose groomsmen for your fiance. If he wants other people up there with him, he will ask them. It's insulting to him, in my opinion, if you do that and also to the "filler" groomsmen you would be asking.

    No it certainly is not ok.  People are not props.  Just because you don't like uneven sides does not give you the right to ask people in place of your FI just to even things out.

    He picks his side, you pick yours.

    I suggest you get over not having even sides quickly.
