Wedding Insurance?

Looking for some advice on wedding insurance from other planning or already married brides.  Did you have it?  Any suggestions on which company to get it from?  On how much you should have?  Difference between cancellation and liability?  As wedding costs keep going up and up I'm thinking it sounds like a good idea, but I just don't know that much about it.

    Do you have homeowners insurance or car insurance? If so, start by calling your company to see if they provide this service.

    We did not purchase wedding insurance, FYI.

    I'm going to tack onto this question and ask if anyone has experience going through WedSafe?

    We're only 6 weeks out, so we're not looking for cancellation insurance, but we do need liability insurance for our venue.

    We did our wedding insurance through WedSafe (clicky). Their website should have any information you need to help you determine what is best for you. LIke any other insurance, you want as much coverage as you need to cover what you would be unwilling to lose financially. If I remember correctly, their rates were very reasonable.

    We were required to have liability for our reception venue, but I added a cancellation policy as well. DH and his family (about 1/3 of our guests) were coming in from out of town, and I knew that they had been snowed in the year before around the time of our wedding. I didn't want to risk losing all of our money if they couldn't get to the wedding due to the one road out being closed in bad weather.

    We didn't have it but I wish we did. My house caught fire the night before our wedding and we could have used it to replace all e items that were lost and had to be repurchased the morning of the wedding.

    We have ours from Wedsafe because insurance is required for our venue. So far, the process has worked perfectly well and all the paperwork is in order with the venue.
