  MA marriage licenses are valid for 60 days. Once you apply for the license, there is a 3 day waiting period before you can pick it up.

  You need to apply for the license, both of you need to be there and it is only valid for 60 days -- you should be fine going at the end of April, if your wedding is at the beginning of June. Just make sure you work out your timing with your wedding date
  
  Applying in person took us less than 10 minutes at our clerk's office...there is a 3 day waiting period, so one of you will need to return to pick it up in person. GL!

  60 days in Mass. Our officiant suggested doing it about 6 weeks out in case there were any mistakes.

  also, shop around, the fees are set by each municipality.  some towns may charge $40 others $20.  you can get it in any city/town and its good in any city/town in MA.  it doesnt have to be obtained where you live or where you plan to marry.

  We actually just applied for ours today!  Definitely shop around.  I live in Boston proper, and there was no way I was going to Boston City Hall.  Different cities charge different amounts, as PP stated.  The waiting period is 3 days, but I wouldn't wait until the last minute to get it.  6 weeks out is a good time frame.
