Which David's Bridal should I go to?

I'd like to hear about your experiences with the Harrisburg, York, and Wilkes-Barre David's Bridal shops.  They're all pretty much equal distance from me.  Which one did you go to?  Did you like it or not like it?  Why?  Any recommendations would be really helpful.... I just realized that I'm less than 9 months out from my wedding and I haven't ordered a dress!!!

I've been to the Harrisburg and Wilkes-Barre ones when I had to get bridesmaids dresses for friends' weddings...they are pretty much identical.  I also browsed for wedding dresses early on in my wedding planning.  I think that since it's a chain they have to have certain standards/consistencies at all of them, and you can order anything from any DB.  In my opinion you would probably have the same experience at any of them.

As to whether I liked it there, I would say no.  When I was looking for my wedding dress I just really didn't care for their selection, and the quality wasn't what I was looking for.  The saleswoman was also annoying and suggesting that I try on dresses I hated.  Just don't let them push you around when you go, because I've heard a couple people have the same pushy experience at different DB stores.

I went to the Harrisburg DB.  I loved my experience with them was great.  They really made sure my girls got their dresses and shoes on time.  I agree with Dom that they are all pretty much the same with standards.  They only thing I didn't like is that one time I went totry on dresses and they were bouncing me from one consultant to another because they were really busy.  They only did that the one time though.  I think you can pick any of them and have about the same experience.  Good luck!

I would recommend going to the one in Harrisburg over the one in York. They all have access to the same dresses but some stores carry more than others. The York store is nice and I liked the girl I met with but they didn't have all the dresses I wanted to try on and if they did they had it in one size. I then went to the one in Harrisburg where they had pretty much all the dresses of theirs I wanted to try on and in a variety of sizes. I didn't end up purchasing my gown from there, but if you are looking for somewhere with a similar price point I would reccomend Alfred Angelo. The AA store in Harrisburg is basically right across the street from the DB in Harrisburg, I would reccomend checking into both. I worked with Sarah at AA and she was great!

Thanks girls!  Looks like we'll be headed to Harrisburg!  Maybe I can make appointments for DB and AA on the same day!  :)

NONE!  They are absolutely horrible!  I had planned on purchasing my bridesmaids' dresses from them, however, when I went there with my mother a few weeks prior to my bridesmaids going they were SO rude to us.  They lady didn't even acknowledge us at first when we walked in.  Then when she did, she asked what we were looking for and I told her MOB dresses.  She then asked if I had my dress.  I said yes (having previously bought my dress somewhere else) and she then asked if I purchased it there.  When I said "no", she said "oh... well the dresses are over there you can go look around" (in a snobish tone).  I will not be going there for anything at all!  Their customer service is very very poor.

*This was at the Harrisburg store but I have heard the same stories about David's in general.

If you are looking for a good place to get your dress or bridesmaids dresses I would highly recommend Taylored for You in Mechanicsburg.  Their customer service is very good and they have a good selection of dresses.  This is where I got my bridesmaid dresses and MOB dress.

I like Harrisburg because it's bigger than York.  However, my experience was not the greatest.  The didn't have the one dress I truly wanted to try on, the woman that was assisting me also had three other women she was helping.  In York, I had a woman help me.  I was the only bride she was assiting, she had all the dresses except the one that I truly wanted to try on.  (Although Harrisburg is bigger, they didn't seem to even have the dresses York had that I had tried on) The woman at York went abover her duties to help me find dresses I liked and try them on.  In Harrisburg, my mom had to help me in and out of the dresses.  Gratned, I'm more comfortable with my own mother, but still.  I just loved the attention I got at York.
