October 2012 Weddings

invitations

My invitations arrived on Friday and I addressed them over the weekend. They are ready to send out! I took them to the mail room at my office and they cost 90 cents to mail out. They are 6" x 6" squares so they have to go flat rate. A co-worker suggested printing custom postage but that requires buying sheets of 20 and I need 24 stamps.

So is it going to look tacky to use two 45 cent stamps?

Why am I so obsessed with this? Undecided hahaha

Re: invitations

  • i think 2 stamps is fine.
  • I used two 45 cent stamps on mine, and I actually loved the way that it looked. Just make sure that if you want it to look a little more formal, that you use two of the same stamps, and spend a few extra minutes overall making sure that they line up properly.

  • I looked into doing custom stamps and the price was astronomical.  I think that it will look fine if you do 2 of the same stamps.

  • Our invitations ended up being $1.10 to mail (6.75x6.75 inches).  We are using a $.65 wedding cake stamp and a $.45 wedding rose stamp on each invitation.  I think it looks fine; realistically, no one will even notice the double postage.  Our international invitations have 4 stamps on them.
  • We used two of the same 45 cent stamps too. I thought it looked good and I'm really picky about how things look.
  • Went to the post office during lunch. The guy who helped me insisted they were 65 cents. I feel like I should believe him but now I'm not sure who to believe. Went ahead and mailed my sister's invitation today. Told her to call me as soon as she got it.

  • We had to use two - a $.65 cake stamp and a $.45 rose stamp. It looked fine - I only wish I didn't have to use two so we could save money. Postage is outrageous. Esp. when you use square envelopes (Oops. Did not think ahead!)
