weddding planning

ok everyone i just got engaged and its been one month and my fiance is a very diffcult guy but i love him so much but im ready to leave him out of the wedding planning and do it all by myself we cant set a date and we cant pick colors WHAT SHOULD I DO? about this please help me im ready to pull my hair out and its not even close to the day

Re: weddding planning

  • we can't pick a date either and have been engaged a little over 2 months so I know how you feel. We aren'getting married for a few years depending on the outcome of some schooling decisions so we have to wait to set a date.

(the knot says jan 4, 2014 but it makes you pick a date so i just picked one waaaay in the future)

i've just been trying to get ideas online and talking about general things with FH so we have a broad idea of what we both want to do when the time does come
Best of luck to you and yours!

  • I made dinner reservations at the venue I wanted and took him there.  Once there we sat down with the owner and picked a date.  FI isn't really interested in the wedding details anyway.

  • it depends...you cant realy leave him out if he wants a voice

some girls it's THEIR day, others its OUR day...not sure where you guys are on that scale...for me it's OUR day - and I don't want the FI being totally left out, I have given in to some things and well it's a compromise so down the road when I really really want something - he will give in to me, but we are pretty good that way...

as far as colors we were having a hard time with that too...what we did is went to Lowes/Home Depot and we each picked colors we liked....I came up with this idea when the FI asked me what color Lilac was.  I stopped, said time out we will continue this later (he's a visual guy).

When we got our paint chips home we started combining them and seeing what we each liked - some of his pics with some of mine - some be both picked (maybe slightly different shade) and we came up with Fuschia and Orange...

hang in there - you'll have moments where you feel like you are loosing your mind or super stressed - and it happens, thats when you have your girls to drag you poolside for pina coladas, sun, and NO WEDDING talk  :0)

  • You can't leave FI out.  This is his day as well.  Some brides would kill to get their FI involved, feel blessed.
  • thanks you same to you to it took us to go to a bridal show for us to come up with colors and a date so nw we are trying to find a vendor and a photographer nw. which is better fake flowers r real flowers for everyone have u ever heard of the party using fake flowers to save money
  • Im personally going with fake flowers.  A family member makes the flowers, so I am saving money in that department, but it is nice knowing that your flowers wont die in just a few short days after your wedding.  You will always have your flowers as a memory, and so will your party members.  GL :)
