So FC and I went yesterday with my mom to the second cake vendor. I had looooved the first one, but the ones that have seen my cake on my Bio know that it has some heavy hand work, which makes it a little more expensive than most. The first vendor was greeeeat. The cake was delicious, and her work was true art, but it was VERY expensive. I've had the experience with friends of weddings in which the cake looks beautiful, but tastes horrible, and if that happens to me I will be crushed. So I was leaning towards that vendor even with the price.
But my super great wedding planner got us another vendor, that also does beautiful work, and the cake is delicious, for less than half the price! We are so happy! I think I've explain before that here in DR the cake that people see its a fake, and the real one comes in pre measured bars that only the kitchen staff sees. This allows us to have different flavors, because each one pound bar is done separately. So the winner flavors are... vanilla cake with passion fruit filling, and vanilla cake with cream of Baileys filling! They were scrumptious! Yay for my check!
