Flower market

Are there any flower markets in the DSM area that have awesome flowers? A friend is helping me with flowers for my October wedding. I know about Sam's and Costco but wonder if there is someplace where I can buy flowers that are a bit more exciting (without having to have flowers shipped in)?

    I've heard DiVine by Saley is pretty impressive, just also very expensive

    most places are closed to the public. for example - FDI is owned by hy-vee and is a wholesale floral distributor, but they only sell to businesses.

    i seem to remember that when i was planning i did quite a bit of checking on other boards and was able to find some good deals online from reputable companies.

    also - what kind of flowers do you want? you can save money by ordering more popular options (roses, etc) from sams/costco and then ordering the rest through hy-vee or somewhere similar.

    you can order whatever kind of flowers you want through hy-vee, you just won't be paying wholesale prices. ask them if they can give you a discount for buying in bulk. they will order the flowers for you if they don't have them in stock.
