All of this still seems so surreal.
My fiance and I have been dating for just over two and a half years now. We'd talked about getting married, but always as a distant concept. But all of that changed a week ago.
A week ago, with no warning, my liver started to fail. I was rushed into Intensive Care, but the doctors couldn't stablize me enough for a liver transplant. They called my family and told them I was dying, and that they needed to come say goodbye. I lost conciousness, and they weren't sure I would ever wake up again.
The next twenty-four hours were critical. But when I came to Dalton was by my side. The second my eyes opened he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. He'd been planning to suprise me later this year, but he said he wouldn't have been able to live with himself if I'd died before he'd had the chance to ask, and that he didn't want to wait another second. It took a few minutes for my head to clear, but once i realized what was happening I burst into tears and said yes.
I can't stop staring at my beautiful ring. I am so lucky; both to be alive, and to have this wonderful man who wants to spend his life with me.
