Horse-Friendly Photo Locations

I'd really really love to do engagement pics with my horses. I'm struggling finding a scenic location where I can bring them to. I'd do it right at the barn but there just isn't anywhere that's beautiful enough for a background.
Any ideas?

Afton State Park has horse trails and it is gorgeous there. You'd need to buy a day pass for your car but it'd be worth it probably.
