GTKY Monday - Canada Edition

OK, I've been a neglectful Mod - I apologize.  I moved a month ago and I'm taking a course, and my day to day teaching has consumed my life - the usual!  It's March Break and although I still have a ton to do (except teach), I need to make some time for my Knotties!  So, let's catch up!

1. How many days or months or years until your wedding left?
2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go?
3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it?
4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.?

Wedding season is quickly approaching for 2011 - so exciting!  Any new brides-to-be out there who want to say hello?

    So I don't have any wedding-related stuff for myself as I have been married for just over 7 months, but there are lots of other things going on in my life.  
    As mentioned above, I moved almost a month ago.  We moved out of our rented condo right downtown and now are living in Danforth Village (Danforth & Woodbine) in a semi-detached house.  It was move-in ready (as in no necessary projects), but we are doing a lot of updates.  We are starting in the basement, making an office and library out of the bare empty room.  We are doing the living/dining room next with a built-in sideboard covered in quartz for a nice serving surface and storage space, plus paint and some new furniture.  We got a PAX wardrobe for the bedroom since the closets are tiny, and are going to paint the bedroom and get new bedding too.  Lots of little projects, one room at a time - very exciting!

    Work teaching is good, and I'm taking my honours specialist in Chemistry (I teach chem currently, and this is just an upgrade course to incorporate more teaching skills to my classes, not to mention it bumps me up a pay grade when I finish).  This course has been taking up a lot of my time for the past 6 weeks (like 3 hours a day, not kidding), but only one month to go!   Also the vocal director for my school play, Aladdin, which shows the first week of April, so that takes up a few hours after school each night too, hence the crazy busy life!  I have to go in this week on my break to start painting the set!

    Next fun thing is a 10 day mediterranean cruise with DH's family in August.  We'll be there during our 1 year anniversary which will be fun!

    So now you know more about my hectic life - fill me in with yours! :)

    1. How many days or months or years until your wedding left? 75 days (2.5 months)

    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go? It's not really a project, but we FINALLy picked our first dance song - Edwin McCain's I Could Not Ask For More.

    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it? Probably stuffing the invitations so they're ready to go in early April. Oh, and my shower is in two weeks.
    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.? Uh, not really. I have an upcoming week off, but I'll be spending that on wedding details, and de-cluttering the house. FI currently lives at his own place, so I have to prep the house for when he moves in after the wedding.

    I am new to this. I just  got engaged on New Year's Day and we are not getting married till probably July or August of next year (obviously no definite date yet--my FI thinks we have all the time in the world). We live in Winnipeg Manitoba. I have not done anything really wedding related yet except for getting my dress--I saw it and fell in love with it. It is probably too early to start planning and reserving locations etc.; besides, I don't even know where to start. We have decided to have an outdoor wedding and we both want a BBQ style reception. Any advice related to early planning, things I should be doing etc. would be greatly appreciated.

    96 Days!!! I can't believe we're in double digits now!

    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go?
    We put together all our invites and have sent the international and out of province invites out!
    Stamping the rest and sending them end of this week

    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it?
    Ceremony programs - meeting with the priest tuesday and then working with my sister to get the programs printed.

    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.?
    Nothing super exciting. I'm starting to get a breather now that the big stuff is done, so I'm trying to read and catch up on all the books that are on my shelf.

    1. How many days or months or years until your wedding left?  I think it's 118 days today.  Almost under 100!

    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go?  I finished getting FG gifts!  I love them!!  (I hope the girls do too, haha!)

    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it? Write up addresses on invite envelopes.

    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.?  Well we just moved into our first home together in January so we had our first big party/joint bday party for FI and my bro on Saturday.  Success!

I just mailed my invites today! it was great! a relief! now begins the mail box stalking. I am also about half done buying my BM gifts. It  has been hard to find something special for each one. 3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it? Finishing BM gifts! Also figuring out how to construct our backdrop for the reception4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.? We bought a house and get possession April 1st so I cannot wait for that! I will be moving in the 3rd weekend of April and am so excited! I have been living with FILs and its been hard.  I miss my own space.

    33 days!!! I can't believe it - I'm a teacher too and every morning I write the date on the board and can't believe how fast time is going!
    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go?
    I'm planning my wedding from England and my most recent project was convincing my sister that I trusted her entirely to choose my flowers!
    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it?
    Our next big planning hurdle will be a detailed outline for the day - eeek

    My fiance has just been granted PERMANENT residency in Quebec which means we will be movng to Montreal this summer! We've both booked one way flights we had a visit from the shipping comany this evening, needless to say we are VERY excited!

    I believe it's at 173 days now.
    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go?
    Got my invitations printed this weekend!  It went fairly well.  They couldn't print from a word document and it looked horrible in a pdf file but finally we managed to make it work.
    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it?
    Assembling the invitations! We will be glueing 3 papers one on top of the other and putting a ribbon between the second and third layer.  (first layer is transparent, second has a design and the third is a coloured cardboard)
    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.?
    Well not much actually.  My MOH is getting married in a little more than a year's time so we should be starting her preparations soon!

    1. How many days or months or years until your wedding left? 1 year 5months and some odd days lol
    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go? Booking a venue and meeting with a photographer...and it went good but almost had a heartattack when i saw the price for the photographer :(
    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it? meeting with a bunch of different venues and that involves me going to ontario in the summer to accomplish
    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.?  I got a new washer and dryer.....(you know you have a boring life when ....lol)

    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go? Photography and it went gggrreeat! got a photographer and she just faxed over our contract to sign YAY!
    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it? Videographer is up next in a few weeks.
    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.? umm oh i get to go bottle my own wine in 2 weeks.

    I`m so lame and I`ve been sick for 2 weeks...so I`ve been a neglectful poster.

    Forgive me!!

    1. How many days or months or years until your wedding left? 164 days.

    2. What was your most recent wedding-related project and how did it go? We bought our wedding rings tonight! That`s a project right?  DIY-wise I made my garter.  It turned out REALLY cute.

    3. What is your next wedding-related project and what needs to be done to accomplish it? Working on invites now.  My sample will be printed tomorrow then I'm going to put it together and get it weighed at CanadaPost next week.  Then production mode.  160 to be made.

    4. Outside of wedding stuff, anything exciting going on in your life with family, work, etc.?YES!!! I got a new job!! I'm working for one of our provincal Lung Associations.  AND I LOVE IT.
