Reasonable Limo in Toronto or another transportation idea

Does anyone know of a reasonable limo company in Toronto area? Other than Executive Livery. (They have pulled the whole bait and switch game with us.  They showed us one gorgeous limo then once they got our deposit money they said the car we wanted is not available and want to put us in something else that we haven't even seen yet.)

Better yet… Does anyone have a recommendation of how to transport the bridal party around that is more reasonable than renting a limo for everyone? We have 17 people in our bridal party….I don't agree with not providing transportation for the bridal party. Even renting cars how do you ask people to be a DD for the night?

It’s so frustrating that the minute you say wedding the prices sky rocket…on everything… not just limos ofcourse. But spending a ton of money on a limo or limo bus is just not feasible or reasonable to me. That seems to be the one thing that people are saying to me now they wish they hadn’t spent a ton of money on.  So how do you get around it.

We're booked with executive livery and they are the only vendor I'm nervous about.  The price was so good it makes me think... what's wrong?  I hope to be pleasantly surprised ;)

I dunno.. cabs?  That's probably how I'm getting my bridal party back to the hotel at the end of the night.

We are using taxi vans to get our wedding party, their SOs, and any other guests at the reception home safely.

We are using big SUVs owned by family/WP members to drive people around during the day.

Sorry, I don't have names of any cheap limo company - I got lots of information on companies at bridal shows in January but they were all pretty expensive.

I think ours was booked with a company called rides for brides.  My mom booked for us, but is always saying how impressed she is with them.... so hopefully it all turns out.

What about a bus?  I think the whole bus idea is fun... you can pack a whole bunch of people in too.  They have a coach type bus, but even a school bus would be cool I think.

We're doing a limo bus, so no suggestions on alternatives.

I'd read through the reviews here: http://www.weddingwire.com/shared/Search?l=y&cid=13&geo=toronto%2C+ontario and see if you're able to find a company you're comfortable with.

I'd also demand your deposit back from Executive Livery, since it didn't reserve what it was supposed to reserve.  (My sister booked a limo with them for her wedding and she ended up getting a tuxedo instead of all-white because of a breakdown.  It was fine though.  We looked at them for our wedding but ended up choosing a different vendor instead.)

We booked our transportation with Erin Mills Limousine. We had a Black Stretch Hummer (20 seater) for a very good price.

I know what you mean about the word 'wedding" and prices increasing. I would recommend also looking for vendors who work out of their home as opposed to a store. That cuts prices drastically because you are not paying their rent or staff. We did this in the following areas: cake, photo, video, decor and flowers and the people we worked with were very professional and very good at what they did.

    Happy Planning!

We have a bridal party totalling 10 people.  We looked into limos as well and the extravagant price tags for 3 hours (we just need to the church, to the reception - it's a Mill with beautiful photo ops).  The prices ranged from $1600-$500 for 3 HOURS!

Instead, I stumbled upon a suggestion from a Guelph couple who had rented luxury SUVs from Enterprise.  I called the one near me and they booked me right away.  They don't keep their vehicles past 25,000km so the vehicles will be new this summer.  We're getting 2 black SUVs (Yukon, Expedition - that sort of deal).  It will cost $250 for 2 days to rent 2 vehicles.  They seat 8 each so we're good to have both sets of parents driving the vehicles.  This way the guys and girls both have transportation to and from the venues.  The challenge will be ensuring everyone's cars are in the right spot at the end of the night :)
