Response Cards - Reply by?

I posted this also in Invites & Paper, but thought I'd also ask my fellow April brides.

I printed out our invitations (whoohoo!!) We plan on mailing them by the end of this week. Our wedding is on April 21st.

What would be an appropriate date to have guests reply by? I'm thinking April 1st, think that's okay?

My wedding is April 20th and our RSVP will be due April 1st. I figure that gives us plenty of time to follow up with people before we have to give our final number to our reception venue.

We're doing March 31st. Most on the other boards say you should have it closer to the wedding date, like 2 weeks before, but that is cutting it WAY too close for me.

Might depend on your venue too. Some of them might want the head count the day before, some might want it two weeks before. I'd say use that date and then reply by a week or ten days before then to give you, fiance, and mothers time to make some calls and follow up with people who didn't RSVP.

I'm also 4/21/2012 and I put our reply date by 3/31/2012. the venue wants head count 2 weeks before so this give me time after the reply date to call people who haven't RSVP. My RSVP date is 4/7.

My wedding is April 28 and the reply date is pretty early, March 17. We're having a lot of international and out -of - town folks so we needed an early RSVP date.

Wedding date is 4/20 and I made the RSVP date 3/20. I figured that gave people plenty of extra time if they were a little late sending them out before I start calling them.

I'm a 4/21 bride, and our RSVP date is March 30th. That is the last day you have o make your hotel reservations in our block...so instead of confusing people with lots of dates we just picked that date.

4/14 with a 3/14 reply by date. Our venue requires we give them a count 15 days ahead of time.

4/21 wedding and 4/7 RSVP date. Our caterer/baker only needs 5 days notice.

We're ettiquette breakers.

Our wedding date is 4/29, and our RSVP date is 3/15. Our venue requires a head count 30 days prior, so I made the date 2 weeks before I need to know, so i can track down the people who forget to RSVP.

We're date twins! And our RSVP due date is the same as yours, too! :)

Mine is 04/29 and our RSVP date is 03/23...the venue required that we give them a headcount 15 days prior to the wedding date and we figured we would give our guest a week for late responses and a week to reach out to the ones who hadn't RSVP'd. I guess we broke etiquette too but oh well ;]

Thank you so much for all of your input!! I called our caterer and they need a 1 week notice for the final guest count. So, I just settled for March 31, this way it's at the end of the month and it gives me time to follow up on those that don't respond, finalize everything else, and let the caterer know at the 1 week deadline. Aaaah so much to do!!!

Wedding date is 4/28 and response date is 3/25 .... that might be early for some but will work best with my schedule and getting everything done

I think I win with the shortest time in between RSVP deadline and wedding date (2 weeks, just over 1 week before caterer needs to know-but hey, I have a small GL). Hooray! haha
