Otter creek golf course?

This is a sorta vent...

So, My fiance and I fell in love with Otter creek golf club in ankeny,ia. I was chatting with the wedding coordinator. Everything was fine and we planned to see the venue July 16.On June 13  I asked if "noon on the July 16 would work?" No reply. I emailed her again..No reply. I emailed her asking if the weekend before would work since we might be going out of town the 16. No reply.I called her twice-straight to voicemail. I leave a message with my phone number to call me. No call. Today, I had enough and vented to my fiance about everything. My fiance called the main line and asked if the wedding coordinator is in. He said she is in her office. He called her. It rang for ten minutes and then clicked to voicemail. He called the main office and vented to the guy about how we can't get a hold of the wedding coordinator and we need to figure out what's going on on Saturday. He FINALLY gets a hold of her and vents about everything. She saids sorry and that "she misplaced the email" that I sent her (all 3 of them?) my fiance asked if that was the case, why didn't she reply to my voicemail? She asked if the number was blocked (it's a cell number and I told her who I was and what my number was) She then told him that she was super busy this saturday with a wedding but could do 1:00. And so we agreed to 1:00 on saturday..


Ok...
Now we are extremely nervous about booking this place. We loved this place before and everything was fine. but now because of this neglectful issues that happened and having to bend over backwards to get a hold of this lady-makes me rethink everything.

Has anyone else thought about booking with Otter creek Golf club? Has anyone had similar experences with them? Would you still book with a place that did this?

    I would take this as a sign, I have never been there nor worked with them before, but if they are this bad about setting up times for you to come look sounds like you might have an issue. Just my opinion.

    We are actually booked there for our wedding in September, and I have never had those kinds of issues with Katie.  Is it Katie you have been dealing with?  She has always been on top of her game and more than helpful.  She usually responds to my emails within 24 hours.  I do know that she is super busy right now with weddings out there about every weekend.  I know that doesn't make it any better, the fact that she is ignoring you.  FI and I booked there last August and I have never felt anything less than total confidence in our decision.

    We talked to Katie as well and got a response within 24 hours.  We ended up booking with another venue for other reasons.

    We did attend a wedding reception there last October and everything was perfect - great food, decorated nicely (not sure how much was the venue vs. the bride), plenty of parking, etc.

    I would go ahead with your meeting on Saturday and see what you think.  I would be upset with the lack of response for sure, but I would also take into consideration that this is probably the busiest time for wedding coordinators.

    I don't have experience with them either, but the communication with my current wedding coordinator at a different place has dramatically changed since wedding season kicked in.  She usually responded to my emails/calls within 24 hours, but it's now more like 3-4 days.  It's been a little frustrating since the wedding is around the corner.  But, I would still meet and see.  It's just that time of year and busy for everyone.  I can understand how frustrated you must feel!

    Yes it's Katie that I have been talking about.I did not even realize it was the wedding season.So, I can understand her being busy and not replying to my emails or call. What I feel is extrememly annoying is that she played it off as a techical gliche (lost the email and blocked number/never got the call). Just be honest and say it's been crazy busy and that you are sorry. But I love the location so we are going to the meeting on saturday. Thank you for your replies ladies!

    Are you using their catering or someone else? If you are using someone else, who is it?

    We are using Christianis.  We wanted plated meals and they only offer buffet up there.  If we were going to do a buffet, we probably would have considered them.
