DIY at Venue?

Hey ladies! Does anyone have an experience w/ providing your own chair covers/centerpieces? My venue rents chair covers for $7/pp but I could purchase them for about $3 each... just wondering if anyone has done this and if the staff at your venue was willing to setup the chair covers and centerpieces for you or if you had to DIY or hire someone to do it. I'm willing to GIVE the venue my chair covers and centerpieces in exchange for the setup...

    I think this is something that only your venue can answer.  Typically your florist sets up the centerpieces, or if you are DIY, you would dedicate someone to that task the morning of.  I am sure there are exceptions, it's just something you have eto work out with your venue and see what they are willing to do.

    Our venue is fine with it (The Westin in Jersey City) and the florist that we are using said that they would set them up as long as we have them there ironed the morning of the reception.

    Our venue is fine with it as well. However a friend of mine, her venue refused to set up her DIY centerpieces. They said they didn't have enough time to get them all done. She hired a DOC, not as a DOC, but just someone to come set everything up and leave again.

    I bought my own linens and my venue (The Palace) will set them up for me. :)
