Photogs!

Hey gals!

Need some advice. I've been researching, searching and searching some more on photgs in the area.

The best deal I could find was The Pros. Has anyone heard good or bad things about them? I'm a little iffy about them just because they're a larger company they might not tailor to specific needs I'm looking for. Also the photogs that are available for my day aren't quite the style I'm looking for.

I'm being pretty specific on the style - I definitely want a photographer who specialized in shooting Photojournalisticly and candids. I want a ton of fun pics.

The other company I'm considering is The Barnyard Photography company, they're based out of DE and I LOVE their samples, plus their 7 hour package is right in my budget (about $1200).

I'm just having a hard time finding someone who shoots in the style I like that is in my budget ($1200 or less for 7-8 hours). Any suggestions? Comments? Greatly appreciated!

We're using Alicia Cohen and we're paying $1200 for 6 hours which is close to your budget.  I really like her style.

I used New Leaf Photography.  They are out of PA, but will travel to DE.  I had them for 10 hours but I can't remember the price.  I did book them when they first started so it was less than it probably is now.  They use two photogs per wedding, one who concentrates on photojournalistic, and one who concentrates on portrait.  Their website is www.nleafphoto.com

I am using Belles and Beaus Photography (Nicole Curran), and she has packages in that price range.  If you look around, ask around, you will be able to find someone who does decent photography for that price.  I would also suggest calling the colleges (UArts, for example) and seeing if any students in their photog program are willing to offer their services or are recommended by the professors.  Many times, their pricing will be cheaper because they are just starting out.

I would highly suggest staying away from the Pros or any big name crosscountry company, as you will not be happy.  I have never heard a good thing about them, and have known many people (including family and close friends, sadly) that were majorly disappointed with their services and products.  If you google them, you can read the bad reviews.

Also, don't sign up for anything in terms of email, as you will get inundated, and it never stops.  Trust me, I learned the hard way.  I have sent them 3 unsubscribe emails, and they are still going strong.

For what you are asking for, I would be leery of the pros.  You might want to try Photography by Tessie.

    Thanks guys!

I looked further in to the Pros and decided against them... too many "iffy" reviews.

Decided to book with Barnyard Photography. They came up in one of my searches. Right in my budget and exactly the Photojournalistic style I wanted.

I also booked a Photo booth. I was dead set on having a candy buffet, but after much thought decided to go with a Photo booth for favors instead. Much more fun and memorable!
