Last Weekend Plans of 2011

Is anyone going to party like it's 1999?  I'm ready for everyone to be back from visiting and stuff so we can get back to chit chatting!!

My Sister and her kids are coming up this weekend so that's pretty exciting!! and this is actually the first New Years that H and I haven't spent together in our whole relationship.. so that kind of sucks..  Today I have to go into work early and I've loved getting extra hours, but at the same time.. I'm soo ready to go back to school!!

Hike- I sent you a message on FB like 3 days ago!! I know that you're visiting with family and stuff, but don't leave a sista hanging!! Wink

Love you All friends!!

    Morning Sami and Irish!

We are doing absolutely nothing for NYE. I think we might go to a friends house and play some Wii but that's really about it. I just want a nice relaxing NYE. Last year we went out and partied it up and it was fun, but I'm kind of over that KWIM?
Fingers crossed for a relaxing, quiet weekend for me.

I am headed down to my parent’s house in Texas after work today. Mainly so I don’t spend the weekend alone. =( This is FI and I first time not together for NYE so it is a bit weird. But, it is a bit silly -  he worked yesterday and then has a 4 day weekend…Oh well, that is life.

I am watching the Sooners in their bowl game tonight (9pm…why so late?)…I think it is the toilet bowl or something completely awful, but hopefully we will win.

ETA - So my lease is up at the end of the month, but I am here until April...I just want to AW myself for negotiation my apartment lease 3 more months for $50 less a month. Well placed -sighs- really do work.

I'll be playing games and drinking at my Grandparent's house for NYE. Nothing crazy. :)

Sorry Sami! I'll write you back in a minute. My Facebook app sucks a big one. Anyway, I'm against the holiday of new years. I absolutely hate it. We had plans for a huge, expensive hotel party but since I stayed in PA, I'm not going. H is gonna go with his best friend, bf's wife, and wife's friends. I hope he has a great time. New years is one of his favorite holidays so it probably sucks to have a wife that hates it. Anyway, I think I'll stay home with mom and dad. I'm getting a lot of parent quality time and I love it!

Irish- wouldn't that be crazy if we had the same hotel party plans? Will you be in DC or Bmore?

Hey Ladies! We don't have any plans either but H is surprisingly off today which is nice. He's got duty on Sunday though so we can't stay up late tomorrow night. We're planning on seeing a movie today. I just made our breakfast, banana pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs! Not sure what we'll do tomorrow yet, maybe go out to dinner or just stay in. We're not big NYE people, and usually we're not even together for it, but as long as I get my kiss then I'm all good! ;)

Yep! That's what I'll miss most about NYE sans H.  The first year we were crazy drunk, the year before last we were at the Casino drinking Champagne and we actually one enough money to stay at the hotel in this AMAZING suite!  Last year we had just decided to stay up all night since we had to leave at about 3am to make his 7am flight back to Japan.  We watched silly movies and stuff all night and drank some left over wedding champagne.

We're having a couple of friends over (and their dogs, which makes 5 dogs in my tiny apartment). So that should be fun, and interesting. We're also still packing, and will probably be packing until the last possible minute.

Has anyone here had the official movers move them, or moved themselves and gotten paid back? Any advice on which is better? FI has an application in with the movers, but pretty much no one is on base or answering phones til after New Years, which will leave us exactly a week to get it together before the date he put in to move on. Eek. I'm packing everything up, so hopefully it'll all work out.

We're not going to do anything this year. I would LIKE to, but there is nothing to do. H is going to be consumed with his new game, anyway! (Skyrim) and I am going to probably craft up a storm. Going to work on some shadow boxes for the wedding and honeymoon memorabilia.

Divine-  My Friend and her H moved with the movers from the AF.  My advice would be to not seal anything.  Box it up, but don't seal it because they will open it up again and go through it.  Lame and Annoying yes. Also, don't expect to get paid back anytime soon.. It took the AF 6 months to pay them back.  They also had to be without their stuff for maybe a week?  Her H was already at their duty station at the time so I helped her out, and the movers were really nice and efficient!!

Funny story about it though, one of the movers was african american, and I had her "Mammy Jar" (clicky) which is horribly offensive, but I don't mean it that way.. thats just what I know them as if that makes sense.. anyway, I handed it to him to put in a box and he looked at it, and looked at me and I swear I thought he was going to yell at me or something but he just said "This looks just like my Momma"  I died laughing..

We go down to a small town about an hour south of ours.  We have good friends who live down there.  The town has a huuuuuuge bonfire and fireworks at about 9pm.  So we head down there to watch that and then head to their house to watch the ball drop on tv and ring in the new year together.  It's a nice get together.  I'm not a huge fan of going out and dealing with drunk people on NYE so I like that FI likes house parties.

We are having a "NYC NYE" at one if our friend's house. Noneof us wanted to go out so we thought of one of our Dance Party USA. We are dressing up. Rumor has it there is a "step and repeat" red carpet and a disco ball. Everyone is skyping with H in the afternoon so I look at like I get two NYE.

FI and I are having a cocktail party at our house!  I am sooo excited!  I am going to decorate tonight!  Crystal cake plates (dessert bar) buffet warmers (appetizers) champagne toast, outdoor covered bar in the driveway with white lights and tulle everywhere!  I have the peeerfect dress too!  I can't wait!  I love throwing parties!

I never go out. It's always the same every year. The whole family gets together and we have a big dinner and drink cider. Well this will be my FIRST NYE with FI and I hate that it's going to be so lame. I wish my family would be ok if I went out and had a fun but safe NYE.

We had a family tragedy like 19 years ago but ever since then we are so conservative with NYE. It still feels like it was not long ago to everyone so we're boring now.
