Bridal Salon Recs?

Hi guys,

We have a venue and a church (hopefully), my mother is coming out to shop dresses with me here in two weeks. What bridal salons would you all recommend? And when should I make appointments?

What kind of price range are you looking at?

There's always the standard Alfred Angelo and David's Bridal that will offer many great choices at very reasonable prices. I had good experiences with the DB near Northstar and the AA on 1-10 and Wurzbach (ordered BM dresses from the AA without any problems).

A lot of girls on here recommend Debi's Bridal and Mayfair Bridal. I had a good experience at Debi's when I tried on dresses there. They carry designer dresses that I'd guess are in the $600-1400 or so range (I don't actually know the lows and highs, but I know a lot of the dresses I saw there were around $700-900). I never went to Mayfair but I've heard great things about their customer service. I've also heard some good things about Celebrations (I think that's what it's called) up in Boerne.

I ended up ordering my Maggie from Bridal Connection in Rolling Oaks Mall. I had great service there and would recommend it.

Stay away from Bella Notte. Lots of girls on here have had horrible experiences with them.

Bridal Galleria gets really mixed reviews. I didn't go myself so this is all second hand, but I've heard they have a great selection but not so great customer service. I think they carry some higher end designers, so if you're looking at the $1500+ range then you might try here.

As far as appointments, I didn't really make any (got lucky with walk-in service), but I'd probably say around a week before, or even during the week that you want to go in. I doubt it would hurt to call earlier though if you know when you want to go.

    I second everything Linzlars said!
I had an awful experience with Bella Notte Bridal on 1604..stay away!  I also had a bad experience at Bridal Galleria.  Like Lindsey said, they have a good selection but awful customer service.  To be honest, I just didn't feel welcome in their store and they were strict about several things (no taking pictures, they didn't want my BMs pulling dresses for me, they wouldn't let my sister help me get dressed and actually kicked her out of the dressing room).
I think Celebrations is actually in New Braunfels but I have a friend in Austin who ordered her dress there and had a great experience.
If you are looking for high end, Julian Gold's bridal salon has a small selection but great service as well.

I recommend Debi's, Mayfair, and Bridal Galleria.  I had great service at Bridal Galleria but make sure you make an appointment first - they do not take well to walk ins.  I actually found my dress there but ended up ordering my dress online because it was cheaper.  Mayfair doesn't have the best selection but they have really good service and can order pretty much any dress for you.  Debi's has the best selection I think out of all of them.

Mairfair all the way! They are great. I got my dress and veil, bridesmaid dresses and flowergirl dresses from Mayfair. I suggest to make an appointment because they do get busy. Oh when i went in I had no idea what I wanted in a bridal gown so i asked what would look best on me, the owner pulled some dresses and the third dress i tried on was it! My aunt also went there and got her dress from there 15 years ago, had a great expirence and the same lady who helped her helped me.
