our story- need some support

A lot has happened the last 24 hours and I just need to tell my story to people who can give some support!  Sorry it's long!

My (now) fiance and I have been together for almost 4 1/2 years.  In June 2007 my fiance's father was relocated 3 hours away and in August 2007 his mom pasted away.  We were devastate.  He and I moved into the family's house to take care of his younger siblings, and fix up the house to sell.  The plan was once the house sells, they would use that money to buy a house where the father's new job is (he has been renting out a tiny apartment- can't afford anything bigger)  and the kids would move up there.

So, of course we get the house up for sale right when the market was about to collapse.  My fiance's father comes home every weekend to be with the kids and my fiance and I have been the during the week support.

We had a showing the other day- the first one in months.  Last night we got a call from the realtor that an offer had been submitted.  It was low, so my fiance's father submitted a counter offer.  So now we wait...

I don't want to tell my friends until I have more news- good or bad.  Just needed to get it out!  Thanks for reading!

    Kudos to you for taking responsibility for the younger siblings!

    Good luck on the house sale.  Hopefully your agent will be able to work something out.

    Good luck with everything! They are very blessed to have you and your FI around. My mom just sold her house that was on the market for almost a year. I think things are starting to pick up and since the holidays are over more ppl are looking again. I hope everything works out :)

    Our counter offer was accepted!!!!!!

    Now we just have to sign the papers and make sure they get approved for the mortgage.  I just sent an e-mail to our realtor saying that we are ready to start looking at houses for ourselves now!!!!

    Once again, thanks for the support.  I've been a wreck and it's been nice having people rooting for us!

    Glad to hear everything worked out! House hunting is a lot of fun and very exciting they also extended the $8k tax credit.

    Congrats. I'm a bit random on the South Jersey board (getting married down there, but I live in Central/Northern, NJ).

    This is fantastic news! I bet you are breathing a bit easier today.

    I am!  We signed the contracts on Saturday and my fiance and I drove around yesterday looking at houses we might like.
