Cake

I went to a cake tasting a few weeks ago and as really not impressed. Yesterday was my birthday and my mom picked up a few pieces of strawberry short cake (which was more like really moist white cake then a strawberry shortcake). Anyway it was pretty much the best cake I have ever eaten, I was really surprised!

Now I'm rethinking the whole cake thing for the wedding. I'm thinking about having a small nicely decorated cutting cake and then a few sheetcakes of this strawberry shortcake in the back to serve the guests. Would this be tacky?

Re: Cake

  • Nope. Sounds delicious!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Not at all!

You could talk to the bakery that makes the shortcake and ask whether they could adapt it for your cutting cake (white cake layers frosted with whipped cream with sliced strawberries in between the layers or something like that).

I love good cake, and would much rather have a delicious strawberry shortcake (esp. when the shortcake is more on the cake side than the biscuit side) than some of the plain, dry wedding cakes I've eaten!
