Newbie introduction

Thought I would introduce myself. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to officially join since it is a rare, slow week for me at work. I came to the Knot over a year ago as a bridesmaid and bought my first house 1 year ago (exactly today!), so I've been browsing the Nest as well - love, love all of the recipes and cool articles there.

I'm 24 and NYE - My BF and I have been together for 6+ years and moved in together a year ago after buying our house. We took the house through a total rehab. He is in law school and graduating next month and I work in marketing and also coach volleyball at the college level. I finished my Master's a year ago. We are mainly focused on our careers and have been for the past few years. I am not unofficially engaged and I have never discussed or been given a promise ring. Just happy to join the fun and to say Hi. I'll only show you my high school honor's society sash if you ask :)

    welcome!  (and in a similar vein- i have a newbie question- it seems like a lot of the women here, in addition to those that are NYE, are already engaged/married?  is this correct?)  -sorry to hijack your welcome post, phillie

    Yeah there's a lot of married and engaged ladies here. We're just that awesome that they want to stay even after they become old married hags. :-)

    Mutley, rickylee, sapphire, by "old married hags" I mean "exquisitely awesome ladies with worlds of experience". I had to translate it into beebee just in case.

    Thanks for the welcome!

    Ophelia is 4 and a half. She is a talking cat who is obsessed with being outdoors, yet is an indoor cat. She 'barks' at birds, which is hilarious. She is shedding like crazy right now which is no fun - but isn't she cute? :)

    Sorry to say - I wasn't allowed to keep my NHS sash from high school - the loan them out each year, so no picture to share. Wink

    Awesome.  I'm in FL now so I don't get to watch many games.  But it's cool when they play the Marlins because we can always get really good seats for the same price as upper level seats at CBP!

    I was a MOH a year ago - so I joined in 2008 to figure out how to be MOH. When I joined, I accidently made my email address became my screenname - which I didn't want. They don't let you change your screenname - so I had to rejoin in order to make the change.
