Hello,
I haven't been so active on the board but I thought I'd post reviews of who I used in Austin since I loved everyone!
1. Ceremony - St. Austin's Catholic Church. Super easy to work with even if you aren't a member (I went there in college but then moved). Loved the priest, it was a beautiful ceremony.
2. Reception - Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental - Absolutely LOVED my venue. David was amazing to work with. He had so many good ideas and made a beautiful reception for me. I'm still getting comments on how good the food was. We had about 115 people show up and the ballroom wasn't too big or too small. They also have wonderful terraces that have views of downtown and it also makes you feel like you aren't just in another ballroom since there are windows. The staff was great too. I can't say enough about this venue.
3. Photographer - Lisa Woods with Now and Then Photography. Lisa is amazing. She did our engagements too. I think we had three or four photographers including her the day of the wedding. She isn't pushy at all, she just takes pictures as you are getting ready and during the event, but they come out beautiful. We did some staged ones at the ceremony but it was mostly documentary style. She is also very accomodating to whatever pictures you would like taken. We had a good hour and a half between the ceremony and reception that we used to get pictures in front of the tower and capitol.
4. DJ - Greenbelt DJ. He also did red uplighting in the ballroom. He was great. Kept the party going, very easy to work with and really could read the audience as to what to play next. Everyone loved the music and the lighting.
5. Videographer - Phil with Three Point Productions. He was really good. I"m really looking forward to seeing the video. Also not pushy or envasive. Great personality and super easy to work with. Once I see the video I'll have more to say.
6. I used my cousin as the florist who is out of Corpus Christi, so I won't put her information here but the flowers were beautiful!
7. Cake - Michelle's Patisserie. It was soo good. We got so many compliments on the cakes. They were beautiful, but also delicious. I honestly don't remember having a wedding cake that tasted so good.
8. Hair/makeup people were also out of Corpus but they are opening a salon in Austin. It's called Francisco's and it will be on Congress near Guero's. He's a friend of my mom's so he came up with a team of four people and did everyone on site. They were awesome. Great to work with. I'm sure they will be available come February when the salon opens.
Let me know if y'all have any questions! Happy planning! (It's so much better when it's over though!)
