Waiting to hear back from the church, but

FI and I are planning on having an August wedding.  We got engaged a little over a week and half ago (on 12/23).  I'm going into the USAF, and I talked to my recruiter earlier this morning, and he told me to expect to go in sometime in the September-October time frame.  So August wedding it is, to give us a good buffer of time before I leave.

Still gives us 7 months to plan, but there is a lot to do.  Thankfully, my BF (who is also gonna be my MOH) will help me with whatever I need her to and help keep me and FI sane.  I'm not expecting her to be my personal wedding planner, but she is offering to be there for me to bounce ideas off of and what not.  

Let the planning begin!  (As soon as I get a firm date, I will be posting a ticker).

    Hi and welcome!  Congrats on the engagement (beautiful ring) and congratulations on joining the USAF!!!

     I'm getting married Sept 1st (to a USMC JAG Officer), but I figured I'd rather be ahead of the curve by hanging with the August brides than leading the September brides, so I hang out here.

    You should visit Military Brides - most of us are spouses (or soon-to-be spouses) of the service member, but a few girls are/were service members themselves.  We'd be happy to have you come chat!  It's a friendly group, and there's a lot of great advice related to military weddings (like make sure to have a military clause in your contracts stating they will refund or transfer your deposit if you can't attend your wedding as planned due to your military commitment, just in case they call and go, "You need to leave next week" in July!)

    Talked to the church about an hour ago and it's set for August 11, 2012 at 2:30 PM.  

    So excited!  

    Lots to do...going to a Wedding Show in San Antonio on Sunday to look at stuff and get ideas.

    Congrats! I kinda envy you for your short engagement. FI and I will have been engaged for a year and almost two months by the time W day comes around, and although I like not having to rush the planning, it's causing a lot of people to be very laid back, and now that things are starting to kick into high(er) gear, I'm getting frustrated. GL!
