Wording help- memorial

Hello June brides, I need your help! My father passed away two years ago and I'm having a lable made to sew into the lining of my dress as a way to keep him with me that day, but I cannot figure out that to put on it.. any ideas? Thanks so much!

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. :(
Did you two have a saying or a song that you sang together?
Like, my dad and I always joked about the Peter Paul candies and if I was doing a label for the a-hole that's what I would put in mine.
"Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Almond Joy has nuts, Mounds don't."

  • That's beautiful. You could just write some thing like "Daddy's little girl," or just have his name or initials sewn in. Is there a phrase he used to use a lot, or a song he loved, or a joke you could reference? My Dad passed 6 years ago--If it were me, I might put "Yessir that's my Baby" with his initials next to it -- it's a song he used to sing me, and ended up being my the first sentence I ever spoke. He also used to send me mail when I was in college and always wrote "Have you smiled today?" before he signed off.  Is there anything like that you could reference?  No matter what you decide to have sewn into your dress (or not), your father WILL be there with you that day.

  • That is a wonderful idea to keep him with you.  Are you embroidering it yourself or having it made?
