    Yay! I loved dress shopping.  For me, it was good to go with ideas of style elements that I liked, but I tried on dresses that were totally different, too, just in case I ended up changing what I liked.  I was able to say, I tend to like this kind of silhouette or this kind of neckline, etc. Also, before I went, I set a price of what I was comfortable spending and *did not* try on anything over that.   Keep an open mind and have fun! :)

    The most important thing with dress shopping is budget. Establish your budget and DO NOT try on anything over that. You can't go in to buy the Hyundai and test drive the Lexus, nothing will compare. Have fun! Try on anything and everything. My dress is a Sottero and Midgley (Adorae), which I am obsessed with. The corset back is so flattering on everyone. I ended up choosing Modern Bride because their price on my dress was better and they included a free bustle and press!

    Country Bridals had some of the best prices around when I went shopping there for my wedding (unfortunately, they didn't have a style I could live with).  Great selection of gowns and head pieces, and they let you take pictures which can really help you decide whether or not a gown looks great on you (mirrors lie!).  Have fun and try on as many different styles as you can!

    Definitely try styles you think you don't like, I never pictured a dress like mine...but I put it on and was in love :)

    The staff was friendly at Country Bridal and it was also an opportunity to drive two of the bridesmaids up to the Shattuck, since they hadn't seen the location yet.  A beautiful sunny, albeit very HOT day.  The flowers were in bloom at the Shattuck...the last time we were there was in early May and it was freezing cold and no flowers has been planted yet. 

    Many dresses were tried on...but none knocked our socks off.  Honestly, I think we preferred the selection of dresses at Modern Bride in Bedford better, so we'll probably go back there on our next dress shopping trip, which won't be until after Labor Day.  (Things are just too hectic between now and then and difficult to get everyone together).  Here's a few shots of dresses that were tried on today.
