Maid of Honor & Bride 12 hours apart.. how can we build a website to exchange ideas?

Hey guys,

My best friend is getting married in about a year--- I'm her maid of honor. This is the first time I've ever held such an enormous responsibility and I want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. The only problem is we are 12 hours apart, I want to be able to exchange ideas and be as part of the process as possible. I thought creating a website or something like that where we could both go and post ideas, pictures, etc. of what we found for the other to see would be great-- do any of you have suggestions??

    Okay.  Here's the deal.  The only responsibility you have is to buy the dress (after the bride asks for everyone's budgets), show up sober wearing said dress, maybe fluff the bride's train, walk down the aisle, maybe hold her FI's wedding band, hold her bouquet during the ring exchange and smile for the photographer.

    Anything else (b-parties, showers, etc.) is strictly voluntary.

    As for the actual wedding planning, that is the job of your friend and her FI.  Nobody else.  If you were in the same town and wanted to help out tying ribbons on little bubble bottles, I could see that but trying to help her plan by building a website to exchange ides is going waaay overboard.

    I'd use Pinterest. 
    My MOH loved going online and finding things and posting pictures for me to look at.  She's not planning my wedding.
    But for instance, I asked her to look at Alfred Angelo's website and pick out a few dresses she liked.  She posted them to Pinterest and I looked at the ones she liked and the ones my other BM liked... I think it made it easy.

    If you still want to help bounce ideas back and forth, I third using Pinterest.  One of my bridesmaids created a board for dress ideas (I'm letting them pick a black cocktail dress but she still wanted my input).  I'm also using it with a shared board with my 'stylist' (a friend of my cousin) for hair ideas.

    Pinterest is a great idea, as long as you are okay with other people seeing your board.  Another option is to create photo album on facebook and change the settings so that only you and her can see the album.

    None of my bridesmaids or family live close to me now, so pinterest was our go-to site. With my mom especially (who helped me tremendously), I could make boards showing her what I was thinking in terms of centerpieces, bridesmaids dresses, ceremony ideas, etc.  Rather than sending a ton of emails a day, she could just check my pinterest page for the pictures/ ideas that I was leaning towards.

    I also think that it is very sweet that you want to be so involved. My guess is that the bride has already asked you to help plan, so I think it is great that you are already thinking of ways to make this happen.

    Another vote for Pinterest!  Also, when it comes time to share document-type things if you're helping her with stuff like that you may want to use Google Docs.  That way you can both open up the same document, edit it, see it at the same time, and are able to access it anywhere you can access your email.

    I agree with Pinterest for sharing photos of ideas. If you both have gmail you can share Google docs and type ideas there.

    just call and email ideas....

    My MOH is 8 hours away and I hardly ever talk to her about wedding planning. She's my MOH cus she's my best friend - not cus she's gonna help me out the most.
