moving to Dallas/Ft Worth area

I am currently in omaha Nebraska and am booked for a wedding on 05.06.2011 but recently found out I will be relocating to the Dallas area around June of this year and will need to have my wedding there.

I am looking for something that is an all in one location that has an outdoor area for the ceremony and a ballroom for the reception.  I would like to keep my total wedding costs under 14,000 if possible.  Does anyone have any suggestions on locations that might fit this decsription.  If you are interested this is the location I was getting married at here www.thefountainsballroom.com and I am looking for something similar.

Also, any other recommendations about the dallas wedding market would be incredibly helpful and appreciated as I have done well over a years worth of research here and now have to throw it all away.

    that reminds me of the coyote ridge golf course course they have an outdoor area with a ball room.. how many people do you expect?

    How big is your guest list?

    I got married at The Wildwood Inn Bed and Breakfast in Denton.  I had 100 guests.  The ceremony was outside and the reception was inside.

    We have several Knotties that are going to be or have been married there.  It's beautiful but I don't know their pricing.  This is a great board for suggestions on your other vendors.  You'll get lots of help here, don't worry!

    Thank you for all the responses.  We are looking at about 120 people.

    Our old location was very all inclusive we were spending about 11,000 with them but that included the faciility, chairs, custom table cloths and chair sashes, all floral, candles and other decoration, photography and the bar.  Which left us spending about 5,000 on the cake, DJ, and caterer.  Unfortunately I am losing some deposits so I have to cut down the budget just slightly :(.

    I am going to go look at the places you have suggested, anyone know anything about the fairy tale manor?

    I'm having mine at Coyote Ridge - it's much prettier than the pics of the website.  The water feature is what sold me!  :)  Plus everyone was super nice and helpful.

    I'm having about 60 people and am only using 1/2 the ballroom.

    Does location matter to you?  DFW is really big, and if you're living in a certain city you might want to narrow down your choices to venues that are closer to where you will live. 

    I second The Tribute.  I would've had my reception there if they weren't booked.  I can't remember exactly what they quoted me though.

    I just got married at The Tribute (2 weeks ago on Saturday). It is a great all-inclusive place and I was really happy with it. Our minimum was $6,500K for food and beverage and then the facilities rental was $2300 (I think) for both the outdoor ceremony site and indoor ballroom. I loved the facilities and the staff is fantastic.

    We used A Man and A Woman Flower Design for the flowers/decorations. They are wonderful and will really work with your budget.

    Oh, and welcome!!

    I also have a great cake person. She does them out of her house, but is MUCH cheaper than most bakeries. She did both our wedding and groom's cake and we got rave reviews. Hopefully the pro pictures will be up soon and I can post pics of the cakes. Here is her information:

    I thought of The Tribute too--it really is gorgeous. There are loads of golf clubs around DFW what will fit your needs--I would pick and area and look up golf clubs around there.

    what area are you trying to stay around? we are doing our reception at the walnut creek country club in mansfield, but we could have gotten married there as well - either outside or the pavillion (also used as a backup if it rains) and they were very afforable! most country clubs around here are - i think ;)

    Oh, what about the Colleyville Center?  One of our Knotties had a gorgeous wedding there and she said the whole thing was around $13K.


    Fairytale Manor has good reviews on Wedding Wire but I don't know anything about it personally.

    Right now I am not 100% sure with location as we will be staying in Tyler until we find jobs and then a house in the same area.  On a side note the housing market there looks amazing.  Does anyone have any insight into the job market there?  This has all been a whirlwind and the idea of replanning my whole wedding was a big stress factor so I wanted to get started on ideas.  I am willing to travel a little for the perfect place as I am in omaha, ne here and was going to go about 45 min away to IA because the place was perfect.  I am a little heartbroken because when I close my eyes and imagine myself getting married I see the place here but I know I will find something there I have already seen so many beautiful picutes.  Also, you ladies are soo nice and helpful, the omaha board was a little dead and not much help so this warm reception has been a breath of fresh air.

    Hmmm, well, Tyler is a good 2+ hours from Dallas.  I have relatives there in Flint, TX.  I know this must be hard, I am sorry!  But you have plenty of time to get settled first and Dallas is a big area with lots of great wedding vendors so you have plenty of time even though you feel like you're starting from scratch.  Feel free to ask any and all questions, we are here to help!  :)

    Yeah, the commute from Tyler to Dallas until we find jobs is going to be hard but once we have our jobs we will be purchasing a house in Dallas so it wont be so bad.  I figure while I am job hunting I will have some extra time on my hands and will maybe drive into dallas a few times to looks at various places.

    There are also a lot of pretty venues out east towards Tyler if that's in the cards.  Tyler might be a little more affordable than Dallas.  14K for 120 is doable in Dallas, but definitely requires some ingenuity and DIY.

    The DFW area is pretty big.  But it sounds like you probably want to stick to the east side of Dallas.  You might also check out places In Tyler, or on Lake Palestine, which will be fairly close to Tyler, if you are still in the area by the time your wedding date rolls around.

    We are getting married at Timarron Country Club in Southlake. It is very affordable they have a $6500.00 minimum which includes: tables, linens, food, etc. The ceremony is only 700.00, it can be indoors or outdoors. We are having 120 people and our budget is 15,000...we are well within budget with almost all the major decisions made. Good Luck with eveything
