So the FI and I pulled the plug on our wedding coordinator earlier today. After our last call, I expected a few things from her: 1) a list of all vendors she booked including prices and 2) catering options, which she said she would provide in a few weeks time. So a couple days ago, I followed-up with catering options and she was still working on the list of options! She had compiled maybe 5 or 6 and was supposedly waiting on more than half of them to get back to her. I would think that after almost 3 weeks, she would have a list compiled with menus and pricing at least. She asked (in the same email thread), when we'd be on Maui next, which I mentioned to her before. I said April 3-8, yet when she responded she said, "So you arrive on March 3 and leave March 11?" Lastly, no list of our vendors and how much we are paying/already paid! I wanted to compare with my own list... We called her together and gave her the boot. She was very understanding and is allowing me to keep all of the vendors she booked. And why wouldn't I keep them?! Less work for us and our coordinator. Every time I spoke with her, I noticed she always used the excuse that she has a lot of other weddings she's planning. I understand that, but if it compromises attention that each couple deserves, maybe taking on less clients is the answer. So we decided to move forward with Cherise for our wedding planning and I cannot be happier! I emailed her and gave her a call, and although she was attending to a wedding thought, she still took the time to text me back! Such a sweetheart. Smooth sailing from here I hope!
